A moment to keep forever, a milestone I’ve envisioned for myself since the day I first arrived in Melbourne. 🤍

Presenting Tirai Antara alongside 30 other emerging designers from institutions across Melbourne and representing @rmituniversity at @melbfashionweek is something I’ll always hold close to my heart.

I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity and couldn’t have made it here without the people who have supported me throughout this journey. To everyone who showed up, cheered me on and shared this moment with me, thank you. Your presence truly means more than words can say.

Tirai Antara will forever be a benchmark in my journey as a designer. A reminder that tradition can be reinterpreted through fashion, that our cultural narratives deserve a place in contemporary design, and that there’s always more to discover in the stories we carry.

Here’s to more milestones, more stories to tell and more endeavours ahead. Feeling incredibly blessed to have come this far. 🫶🏻

Till next time, @melbfashionweek!

Xoxo,
Danish Rizal

Tomorrow marks a very special milestone as I make my Melbourne Fashion Week debut, showcasing my graduate collection, Tirai Antara.

As I prepare for this moment, I want to take a moment to appreciate everyone who has made this journey possible. From those who believed in my vision to those who supported my creative exploration, especially my belief in how fashion can be reimagined and refined through tradition.

This collection has always been more than just garments. It is a celebration of heritage, identity and the possibilities that emerge when tradition meets contemporary design.

Thank you for all the love, encouragement and anticipation leading up to this moment. It truly means so much to me.

And as we count down to tomorrow, I’m also incredibly happy to share that one of my pieces from the collection was featured in the August issue of ELLE Malaysia!

A special thank you to @ellemalaysia and @athirahzahra for recognising my work and giving it a platform beyond the runway.

From Malaysia to Melbourne, what a journey it has been. 🇲🇾🇦🇺

See you on the runway tomorrow!

A new chapter begins…

Following the journey of Tirai Antara, I’m excited to share that I’ve been selected as a finalist for the Melbourne Fashion Week Student Collections Runway 2026.

From my graduate collection to the next runway, this is another milestone in my journey as a designer, and I can’t wait to share what’s next.

See you on the runway. 🌹

A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in this award. Your time, support, recognition and trust mean so much to me.

I dedicate this Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award to everyone who has supported and encouraged me to continue contributing to the people around me. What I do has never been about me alone.

Thank you to my fellow friends and community members from @masca_victoria, @mhrc.melbourne, @educationmalaysiaaustralia, @malaysiainmelbourne, @cityofmelbourne, @mymelbourne_is, @ebcmelb, and the Victorian Government, as well as everyone who continues to champion the same cause. Without your support, this award would mean nothing.

A special thank you to the @multiculturalyouthawards organising team, sponsors and partners for creating a platform that celebrates the contributions of multicultural young people. Special thanks to @cityofmelbourne, @tafevictoria, @melbpoly, @brotherhoodstlaurence and @ccyp_vic, alongside all the incredible organisations supporting this year’s awards.

And of course, thank you to everyone behind the scenes, the jury and all those who continue to champion multicultural youth.

Congratulations to all the finalists and award recipients. It was an honour to share this moment with so many inspiring young people.

This award is for everyone who has ever felt left out or struggled to find a sense of belonging. Because everyone deserves a place where they feel seen, valued and accepted. Belonging should never be gatekept.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This recognition belongs to all of us. 🤍

Can’t believe it’s already been a week since the @zerowastevictoria Festival - ReWear Runway.

I already miss the energy, the atmosphere, and being surrounded by so many amazing and creative people. I honestly wish it could have lasted a little longer!

Sharing a little behind-the-(seams) look at the making of my piece for the runway. I hope this gives you a glimpse into the process and, more importantly, a reminder that discarded materials can always be given a second chance at life.

Sometimes, all it takes is a little imagination, creativity, and care to see the possibilities in what others might consider waste. ♻️

Forever grateful to have been part of such a meaningful celebration of creativity, sustainability, and community. 🤍

A tear was shed last night — not because I was sad, but because I felt relieved. Relieved that all the hard work, the doubts and the hours put into this finally meant something.

Winning People’s Choice Award & Winner of the Night is something I’m truly proud of. I never take being creative lightly, especially when it comes to using fashion to talk about sustainability.

Thank you to my amazing model @_nikhitap and my Hair & Makeup Artist Ninh from @lumeninebeauty for helping me bring this to life with such wonderful energy and talent. 🤍

Thank you @zerowastevictoria ReWear Runway for creating a space where we can show that creativity can still be conscious of our environment.

And to all the amazing creatives I shared the stage with, you guys are truly so talented and wonderful. Congratulations everyone! 🫶

Thank you to everyone who supported me, wished me well and believed in me. I truly appreciate it.

Fashion should have meaning. And I hope I can keep creating it without compromising the world we live in.
