The last six months have flown by.

A new role as VP of artist and label partnerships, new partnerships, some incredible campaigns, plenty of travel and a lot of memorable moments along the way.

It’s been a privilege working with so many talented artists, labels, managers and colleagues, helping launch new partnerships, deliver campaigns and celebrate some fantastic successes across electronic music.

Along the way we’ve celebrated a UK Top 10 single, multiple Beatport No. 1s, and saw Jamback’s Positive become the longest-running No. 1 in Beatport history.

I was also incredibly honoured to be recognised by Billboard as one of its Power Players in Electronic Music.

Away from work, one of the biggest highlights was an unforgettable trip to Japan with Amanda and the kids. It’s a place we’d wanted to visit for years, and it definitely lived up to expectations.

From Japan to Miami Music Week, IMS Ibiza and Sónar, it’s been a busy, rewarding and memorable first half of the year.

Grateful to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far. Looking forward to what the next six months bring. by @danishilton1980

Classic nights at The End were the best nights in London 🤩
My first ever Classic night was when the Armand Van Helden vs Fatboy Slim was cancelled due to a bomb in Brixton so we went to Classic instead with @edcartwright @johannnaconnelly @toshikiohta

The End was one of the best clubs in London…there was never a queue for the girls toilets or the bar and you could easily find your friends. The dj’s and music at Classic nights were also the best @lukesolomon @captainrocklock @djsophielloyd
along with other new friends made at these parties including one of my dearest friends @leonjames70 who worked at Classic at the time as did @danishilton1980 .

I must of gone to every Classic party after that night, not sure when the last one was, I guess when The End shut but so excited that now after all these years we get to have another Classic dance and in the words of @samjrooke about bloody time! We have missed them x

I’m almost as excited that I’ve made it onto my first flyer .. #1 fan 🫶 look how young we all look 😀

Great to see Oasis last night at Wembley with 90,000 others. My family relationship with the band goes back to March 1994 when they were booked by my mum to play Moles Bath (she was sent their demo cassette which is still in our possession). We watched them as a family at Glastonbury (the last time I’d seen them live before last night over 30 years ago). My mum Candy then also worked on the “Wonderwall” video shoot and she got the shot by shot direction signed by the band to my brother Ben and myself. So history full circle last night at the show, I’m not their biggest fan, but the show last night was epic… like one huge karaoke.

As they say all good things must come to an end.
We came to the wettest place on earth and not surprisingly is the most beautiful❣️🌸🌺🪷🪻🌱🌊
The endless palm trees, love them as much as Christmas trees 🙃
The last photo is one of my favorites spots in the world, where the pacific meets the water from the waterfalls creating a fresh water pool full of tropical fish 🐠💦 nature at its best 🌊

RIP J Saul Kane, AKA Depth Charge. A truly inspirational producer who completely transformed my musical perspective and helped shape my lifelong passion for electronic music. His debut album, Nine Deadly Venoms, remains one of my all time favourite electronic albums.

I had the pleasure of working with his label, DC Recordings, as a teenager, promoting his records while at the club promotions company White Noise in the late 1990s. In more recent years, I tried to encourage him to release his music on streaming platforms to keep his work alive, but he was having none of it and hated their payment policies.

Among all the records in my collection, the early Depth Charge/DC material will always have a special place. It still sounds timeless to me—a true testament to his mastery of the sampler. Nothing else has ever sounded quite like it.

RIP to a true pioneer. Sadly, the only way to hear his music now is by raiding YouTube or tracking down the old CDs and vinyl—but they are all worth seeking out. Especially his anthem “Shaolin Buddha Finger”, widely played by Coldcut and The Chems at the Social.
