06.10.2026. I lost a great friend, a mentor, a true artist yesterday. Such sadness fills my soul to say Duane Michal’s has passed away. Duane have me the courage to leave everything behind and move to New York City so many year’s ago and I owe so much to him for that. He touched so many peoples lives with his art and lectures and friendships. Above is an early moment in our history when I modeled for him. So many great memories. taken in New York City by @danmayers1

This Week the amazingly talented Qween Jean was awarded the Tony for Costume Design for their show Cats: Jellicle Ball. Qween Jean has influenced and inspired so many people in the city in their tireless movement to protect and empower black trans youth. The win shows so many people it is possible to be recognized and celebrated in this country. I am so proud of her accomplishments today in a country where people have tried to capitalize hatred for political gain, Qween has been a strong and compassionate voice for liberation. taken in New York City by @danmayers1
