Whew!😅 From January to now! All u can say is thank god! For those of you who don’t know on January 10, 2023 I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG) surgery and I don’t regret it not one bit! A lot of people may feel I’ve cheated but I’ve only used a resource that forever changed my life and couldn’t be more proud of! The process to even get to January was hard work and dedication and even 9 months post op that is still my mindset! I began the journey back in march or April of 2022, I had to go through a series of evaluations, from dietary meetings, psych evaluation, lab testing, surgical consultation, financial planning, etc. I went to the original home of bariatric surgery which is the Barix clinic here in Ypsilanti, Mi, the staff was always great, organized, & welcoming 😊 My surgeon (Dr.Blake Movitz) was also always a pleasure to speak with. My surgery was originally scheduled for January 3,2023, later pushed back to January 10, due to my surgeon having covid, January 10 came and I couldn’t be more excited 😆 I surprisingly wasn’t nervous, I knew I was in good hands, my surgery was successful I didn’t have any complications Before, during or after, I went home the next day and my pain was minimal, after about a week or 2 I was most pain free!
I came home the next day and just got straight to business I had already prepared myself for what was to come! Everybody asks me what I do or did to lose the weight and keep it off, I utilized my tool (vsg) to refocus my diet and I stuck to the plan they gave me! Here I am today 9 months later and I still act is if it is day 2 after post op, I workout and eat correctly, it has all been a learning process but I take my new lifestyle very serious and I’m joyed that I can inspire others as you guys all motivate me daily to keep going! I have zero regrets and I do my best to motivate those around me you don’t have to take my route to get my results you just have to be dedicated and hold yourself accountable no matter how many times you have to restart!
