These words feel symbolic to me now more than ever. The promise behind them—of welcome, dignity, justice, and hope—inspires the work I am preparing to do. I am honored to announce my acceptance into Columbia University’s Master of Science in Social Work program!

This acceptance is more than a next step to me—it is the bridge from my own lived experience—over a decade of chronic illnesses and mental health struggles—to a future of effective advocacy for those too often overlooked. The “tempest-tost” have a champion in this future social worker.

My mission is to move from witnessing injustice to dismantling it. To serve vulnerable communities with empathy and respect. To walk beside people, step by step, on their path to healing and empowerment.

I am ready to learn, grow, and hold the light for others—lifting my lamp beside the golden door so more people can find their way through.

This is just the beginning! 💙🗽

To my sister…I’m incredibly proud and lucky to have such a kind, emotionally intelligent, and radiant sister like you. You transferring here during my last year has without a doubt been the highlight of it. Thanks boofy ❤️
