Initially, I thought that I’d break out my paints and be super productive during this whole recovery period, but I came to find out that sitting at my desk for an extended period of time was very uncomfortable and taxing. Nevertheless, this last week I managed to get some painting done and that little accomplishment feels good. Hoping to keep it up.

Second slide is a recent xray from that last procedure. Next surgery is in a couple weeks.

I really appreciate all of the support from the community, friends, and family as I go through this. Really looking forward to getting back to tattooing as soon as possible.

I have a waitlist signup form on my website. If you’re wanting to stay in the loop and get tattooed when I’m recovered, sign up for that and I’ll email you when I’m back at it. Love you all! Back home from surgery number one on my knee at USC. Next surgery in about 5 weeks. I’m truly grateful for all of the love, words and support I’ve gotten over the last week. Means a lot that so many of you care.

My wife @michellelandis has taken exceptional care of me since I got home. I love her so much. Thank you to my sister @stefaniderrick for coming over and helping out as well.

I’ve been trying my best to not doom scroll and to get outdoors, but I wanted to make this post as a follow up from my vague story last week.

For those interested, I had a femoral rotational osteotomy where the femur is severed and rotated to correct alignment with the patella. My knee cap used to dislocate and it was really painful when it happened. Next surgery is to reconstruct the mpfl ligament and repair a torn meniscus.

Looking forward to being on the other end of this and back at the shop doing what I love most, tattooing. Thank you all for your patience regarding work.

The love and support from friends and family is overwhelming. You all are the best and I hope I can return the love and compassion to you in some way. @reesegalido @laurenrueda @thejojogogo and even though he has the worst username @proudmagagrandma

I’ve stared at this @jasontylergrace print a lot this week and it has become a mantra of sorts. Grateful for art and artists. taken in San Luis Obispo, California by @dannyderrick

Stoked to add this panther head and snake tattoo to Robs already incredible collection of tattoos. This last week was really great. A lot of fun pieces on some really awesome people. This summer marks 18 years of full time tattooing for me and it’s still hard to believe that I get to do this for a living. Very grateful.

Honored to add this to Tatianna’s amazing tattoo collection. She made a trip out to CA from Montana to get tattooed and that blows my mind. Thank you so much!

Couldn’t decide between “Catifornia Über Alles” and “Catwalk Among Us” for the caption. Drop me a cat related punk pun in the comments.

Thanks again for always getting such fun tattoos, Blake!
