Hey everyone, I want to say a huge thank you for the overwhelming response to this week’s @hollyoaksofficial episodes, especially #HollyoaksLater.

The entire week has been huge and honestly, I wasn’t quite braced for the impact it’s had.

In regard to Dodger: I’m incredibly proud and honoured to have been asked and trusted to take on this storyline.
Telling this story means a great deal to me and is a responsibility none of us take lightly. We are working closely with the wonderful @MrMadrigalOBE @thisissurvivors to deliver it with the utmost respect and sensitivity, every step of the way, ensuring we engage as many people as possible into the discussion - we have to talk about male abuse.

Endless gratitude to our phenomenal #HollyoaksLater director @seang21 for guiding the shoot with such care, respect and artistry - and to our unrivalled crew, who also created the safest of spaces in which to work - with special thanks to both our brilliant 1st AD @jamie.stewart1 & intimacy coordinator @icemmaweissensteiner.

Massive thanks to @hannahrcheers for your bravery & @em.gascoyne for your wonderful script.

To all the male survivors out there, I personally want you to know that: We see you. We hear you.
And as an ally, I will do everything to ensure this conversation gets bigger and creates action.

Take care,
Danny x

Thank you to everyone who has reached out or shared their thoughts about recent episodes.
This storyline has meant a great deal to everyone involved in bringing it to you.
The responsibility has been, and will continue to be, great. And one that none of us have taken lightly.
Dodger & Donny will forever be survivors & there is finally a brighter day ahead for these men now.
I hope they will continue to be a voice, an example, a support and a beacon of hope for all survivors of SA - especially male survivors. We see you 🤍
