“Ah! mon ami, je m’en vais enfin de ce monde, où il faut que le cœur se brise ou se bronze.” (Some thoughts below.) ⸻ France treated me well. Although things didn’t go exactly according to plan (I fell ill 😢), I still thoroughly enjoyed my time there. There’s a distinct beauty to Paris. I’ve visited quite a few iconic European cities now, but none possess the same modern grandiosity. The landmarks, the way people dress, the food, the architecture, and the atmosphere of the city itself. The highlight of my trip was, of course, seeing the tomb of Napoleon I and Van Gogh’s self-portrait. I found myself thinking a lot about legacy during my stay. As I’ve grown older, it’s become more important to me. What does it mean to leave one’s “mark”? Is it the work we create? The way people remember us? Our children? I don’t know. The romantic in me wants to fade into obscurity, with any great deeds drowned in the infinity of time. Nobody can distort or change it. My memory is mine alone! Muhahaha. Another part of me sees legacy as an answer to an existential question: how do we justify our lives? Still not sure. But Paris was beautiful, and I’m glad I visited. by @dannyquezad

Rome & Florence. Some thoughts below: All of my previous trips focused on exploring the past. My personal history, mythology, ancestors, etc. My desire to see Rome and Florence, however, wasn’t to just enjoy their history (though there is over 2,500 years), but to use it as fuel for my own future. This journey was predicated on two major drivers in my life: power and art. One cannot exist without the other. Step into Vatican City or stand before a room of Medici-commissioned works and it becomes clear: art fuels power, and power fuels art. By “power,” I don’t mean tyranny or ability to subjugate, I mean a liberating force that can also manifest itself through art. These two cities embody that idea. The hard sciences, finance, and handiwork matter and should be studied to understand the physical world and our own body. But art is for the spirit. It forces us to look upwards - toward the heavens, love, God, and what YOU could be. This alignment is what I move toward in 2026: the accumulation of tremendous power, and by proxy, the creation of more art. by @dannyquezad
I had a wonderful time running around Euskadi. A penny for your thoughts below: For years, I told myself that traveling was something I’d save for later, after my career or when acting took off, all the responsibilities, the “real life.” But one night, during a conversation with a close friend, she asked me a question that floored me: “If not now, when?” The next morning, I booked a flight to Greece. I couldn’t just be a guy who only knows these places through a book. I wanted to stand where I’d only read, to meet history and myth in the flesh. It was the same with this trip to Spain. I’d always heard stories from my Grandmother about my great-grandfather; how he was forced to flee the country, to leave everything behind just to avoid being killed by Francisco Franco’s regime. I kept wondering: What kind of place shaped him beforehand? And how did that influence echo through the generations, into my life today? I had to go. To see the mountains he once looked up at, the streets he walked, the food he tasted. So I did. And what a gift it was! I came face-to-face with that part of myself. I learned more than I expected, and I think I’ll carry it with me forever. As always, I give thanks to my God for letting me do this in good health, and at such a young age. by @dannyquezad
Oh, Greece! Xenia is ingrained in your people. Thank you for your hospitality. Some thoughts and rambling reflections below: These last few months of my life, in particular, have been immensely transformative. I’ve been questioning myself a lot. Greece was an important step forward for me. Running around ancient ruins, meeting people, standing beneath olive trees, walking through both large cities and small villages... I’ve realized there’s more in common with all people than not. I can now barely begin to grasp the illusion of separation—a concept I’ve always struggled with. I will publicly give thanks to my God, who has given me everything I have, in spite of myself. The topography of mainland Greece lends itself to thoughts like these. The rolling hills transform into imposing mountains. You’re constantly tilting your head upward—physically, spiritually, and culturally. It’s almost as if you are closer to the heavens. I understand now why places like Delphi are where they are. Overall, it’s a privilege to be able to experience this the way I did, at my age, and it’s truly because of my God. If you made it this far, thanks for reading. by @dannyquezad
