It's Fabrication Friday in the Resto Shop today! Our metal masters are spending the day doing chassis modifications to two of our Restomod projects.

The 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan Convertible had a custom made chassis ordered for it, but the front suspension cross member was installed a few inches too far forward by the frame builder. Luckily, the company that made it, sent us another cross member and our team of extremely talented craftsmen dove right into make it right!

The 1983 K10 Silverado Restomod build is getting frame alterations to fit an OEM style fuel injected fuel tank between the frame rails in the OEM location of a Suburban or K5 Blazer. This is one of those little steps that really make something look like it should have come this way from the factory.

Cars with great stories are always my favorite ones to work on...

Purchased off the original owner in the mid 1970s, this 1973 Corvette 4spd Convertible was just a few years old when our client Dan, watched his Father bring it home. Living just outside of DC, Dan was exposed to quite a few cool cars, but nothing was quite as cool and riding around with his Dad, top down, and banging through the gears.

Dan's Father took quite the amount of pride in his Corvette, always keeping it washed and waxed, often recruiting the help of his son to do so. As the years went on and Dan got closer to driving, the decision was made to park the Corvette and take it off the insurance. Over 30 years ago, insuring a teenager on a Corvette as a household driver was so expensive that parking the car was the only option. The plan was always to wait until Dan was a little bit older and get the Corvette back on the road. Well, as often happens, life went on, newer cars were purchased, and the Corvette basically became a shelf in the family garage.

Decades would go by, conversations about the Corvette became less and less, and then sadly last summer, Dan's Father passed away. Since the passing of Dan's Father, the quest to preserve his legacy went into full effect. Dan searched around for the right shop to get his Father's Corvette roadworthy again, while not over restoring it and preserving the components that his father physically touched. After seeing our TV show Last Chance Garage on @motortrendtv, Dan reached out with his story and rest is history.

Over the coming months, Dan's 73 Corvette will undergo a full mechanical restoration to make it roadworthy for him and his young son. The interior will be preserved, the paint brought back to life, and a few tasteful performance upgrades will be done to make it not feel like a smog era Corvette.

This is a project I am very excited for! Full mechanical overhaul, subtle modern upgrades, all while preserving the overall look and history of the vehicle. Stay Tuned for more updates with this awesome project!

Special Delivery!!!

This super cool 1969 International Scout 800A joined us all the way from Texas yesterday. I gotta say, I didn't expect to love the half cab and pickup bed as much as I do! It's just so rad!! 😍 We're gonna dig into this lil guy this week to make sure he's roadworthy for a full summer of adventures!

Feeler Post: PUSH BUTTON ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS

In the last few years, car theft has been on the rise in record numbers... Many of our clients have experienced it first hand, everything from Hellcats to Mercedes-Benz, anything with a push button has become very easy to steal.

We are contemplating becoming a dealer and installer for an anti-theft product that will work on any push button vehicle, ALL MAKES, but I want to see if there's enough interest to make the investment worth it. The systems with install would cost a minimum of $1200-$1800 to start and can go up from there depending upon the application. What I like about this system in particular is that it retains ALL stock features, including remote start. It's definitely not something for everyone, but if you drive a Hellcat, Jeep, or Mopar performance product, this might be a small investment in keeping your car your own...

Just trying to gauge interest before I go through the buy-in process of being a dealer and installer. Thoughts??? by @dantonio_auto
