An agonizing decision but I went with the opposite color frames to the backgrounds (first pic)…and I still think two eyes on the table makes a face with the tabletop for a mouth 👁️👁️👄

Here’s the match from yesterday’s post, darker eye on the shadow side on a white canvas. Fresh off the easel and ready to head to Savannah for @affps_festivals River Street Art Market!!

Trying out some different backgrounds and techniques - this will be a pair with another one with a white background. Getting ready for my first festival on the road! Heading to Savannah tomorrow for @affps_festivals Savannah River Street Art Market, Friday through Sunday!

I think this might be done? This is one of the first in a bit of a new direction I’m working on, basically scaling up some of the experiments I’ve been doing on the small pieces into larger portraits and figurative work. I’m playing with letting more background come through, finding happy accidents, more abstraction and texture and less finely rendering every detail…I’m bound to crash and burn a few times but it’s fun to explore new territory. And by fun, I mean mostly terrifying, but sometimes exhilarating 😆

Is it just me or do these two paintings on the table look like a face? But it’s a nice pair, framed up and ready for the rain tomorrow at @fallfestincandlerpark - don’t let the weather scare you away, come out and say hi!

This is a match from yesterday’s painting. Also hope it dries in time for @fallfestincandlerpark this weekend! They’ll look cool as a little pair. Come on out and brave the rain (if it happens, which it may not!) ☔️🌈

Super psyched to be participating in Drink and Doodle Vol. 125 with @abvgallery on Wednesday, Sept. 30 (tomorrow!) at @mondaynightgarage from 6-10pm as part of @abvgallery’s OuterSpace Project @outerspaceproject

Drink and Doodle brings artists and the community together for a night of creating, connecting, and watching the creative process unfold live. I’ll be making new work alongside 50+ artists, with artwork going up for silent auction throughout the night.

Come on out, grab a drink and check out the work! Get tix and register for the online auction at the link in @abvgallery’s bio. See you there!
