On this Winter Solstice, we are proud to announce the release of The Winter Trilogy

Exploring themes of isolation, longing, and heartbreak, this EP has been both a deeply personal and therapeutic journey. Drawing inspiration from iconic albums such as Damnation by Opeth and Jar of Flies by Alice In Chains, The Winter Trilogy embraces a raw, intimate, acoustic sound. Additional influences from artists such as Woods of Ypres, Elliott Smith, Dax Riggs, and Agalloch have helped shape this introspective collection.

After ten years, this release marks the return of Obelisk. It would not have been possible without the contributions of the original members:
Ezekiel Kaplan - Vocals, guitar, piano
Devan Procopio - Bass and ambient effects
Dan Winschel - Lead guitar on Winter's Tune
Caleb Hay - Backing vocals on Years of Winter, a reimagining of a track he originally wrote

A special thanks to the exceptionally talented Matt Lynch (Cynic, Intronaut, Nova Collective, Trioscapes) for his masterful drumming and auxiliary percussion that brought this project to life.

The Winter Trilogy is now available on all major streaming platforms. [Link in bio]

About 3 years ago I was learning Neon by John Mayer. Amazing song, check it out if you haven’t. It’s in drop C tuning, so I played with that for about a month and ended up composing this. Just rediscovered it and relearned it from my voice memos. Still a bit sloppy but I’m pretty proud of this piece! by @danwin284
