My fastest race — 48.92 @weltklassezurich 💎
in THE fastest 400m hurdles race ever, crowned by the historic world record from @alisonsantos01_ 🐐

I feel incredibly honoured and enormously grateful to have had the chance to race alongside all-time greats and to be down there on the track, taking it all in and experiencing an atmosphere unlike anything before.

This was simply beyond — an experience of a lifetime.
A night I’ll never forget. 💫

In my home stadium @lczuerich 💙

In front of the Swiss crowd, my family and friends.

The moment I realised I ran another PB.

… 🐐🐐🐐

=PB 48.96 — European Semi-Finalist — 4 × 400 Finalist

Thoughts on Success.

48.96. An equalled PB.

On paper, it might seem like not much has changed. But what this season has meant to me — culminating in this past week — and the way I got here certainly has.

I rid myself of the pressure of expectations, trusted my mind and body, enjoyed doing what I love so much and simply ran.

I stepped onto the track and lost myself in my performance.

A state of flow I have felt so often in training but couldn’t take onto the track in competition the way I wanted to.

One might think:

I didn’t win a medal.
I didn’t make the 400 m hurdles final.
I didn’t run a huge personal best.

All fair and true.

I made the decision to stop chasing the next great success as if it would decide whether or not I was successful.

The athlete in me still wants to improve, run faster and explore what he’s capable of.

And who even defines success?

Ultimately, we define it ourselves. But how much of that definition is truly our own?

I often looked at myself from the outside and defined success by what I thought it was supposed to look like. To want more. To be better, faster, stronger. To be the best.

But once one goal is reached, what comes next?

When will it be enough?
When will I be enough?

Nothing will ever be enough if I am not already enough. No single achievement is the finish line to fulfilment.

For me, these championships were a testament to the appreciation and love I have for running. To enjoy every race, every training session and every experience for what it is — part of my love for what I do.

The athlete in me will always see more potential. And I still want to explore it. But it no longer takes away from where I am now.

I am where I am supposed to be. I am where I want to be.

Athletics has given me so many experiences, taken me to so many places, brought so many people into my life — and once again, given me moments I will never forget.

And I get to enjoy all of it for what it is. To do what I love.

To me, that is success.
