it’s been almost a year. almost a year since we’ve seen you, spoken to you, laughed with you, held you, cried with you. we’ve done a lot of that last part in your absence. we will never understand why you walked away because you never told us. we understand you’re as safe and alright as you want us to think you are. I’m so mad at you for choosing to not be here and for choosing to miss out on our last year. A got engaged and is going to marry the love of her life and will be a generous wife and loving mother, and you chose to never get to witness any of it. we could have walked alongside you in your new journey into this part of motherhood and you could have leaned on us when it felt like it was all too much. the boys would be in school together and part of the coolest bro squad the ECDC has ever seen. I bagged the OHL player we used to always laugh about and swore off a real relationship until a man, who is under 6’ might I add, showed me that loving myself is not a crime, just like you always did. you had a way of making it seem so easy to be you and I’ll sit here and scream and cry and wonder how you so easily made a choice to remove you from our stories. as much as I hate you I will always love you more, and when you decide to search me one day I hope you see this. when you do I hope you know we are still here, and we will always be here for you.
