I've just now come to the realization that God does things for a reason. I absolutely loved madi's life and being able to be in it. It was full of the best testimony, the best times from being tan at the beach to screaming our lungs out at concerts, and pickles. Madilee Mitchem was my rock. She is one of the most important parts of my life that showed me to who I am today. Even when we wouldn't talk for a week or more, we always found a way to make a joke and talk to one another. The day she went into the hospital, we had planned to go to this water lantern festival (kind of like that scene from Tangled) Anyways, instead I was sat down and Madi chose to call me and say her goodbyes. I didn't really choose to believe it because to me, Madi could get through this. Madi was going to get through this. There was no possible way God was going to take her at 14. So the next day, we went up and Madi was, as Madi says "Higher than Snoop Dogg on a Saturday night" It was something that I had never seen before. My best friend, in an awful amount of pain, and there was nothing I could do. I was honestly starstruck.
Madi has shown me and everyone around us that it's ok to not be ok. Madi was there during the darkest period in my life and she healed me. I will never ever have anyone that made me laugh so hard.
So then again, I go back to the fact that God's timing is perfect. Madi knew that I am now strong enough to live this life without her, Madi knew that she was leaving behind a beautiful life, Madi knew that she had fulfilled her purpose on this earth. Madi knew Madi.
As to my best friend, I've never been more proud to call you my best friend. I know that I will always have you looking down at me as my own personal guardian angel. I love you more than you'll ever know.
Even though I was not ready to say goodbye, I'm so glad you got your wish. I'm so proud of you and you will always be the strongest girl I know. Yesterday, I got the opportunity to take the next big step in my faith! With the amazing guidance at @pgbc_nc and the student ministry I felt stable and ready to take that leap. I can’t express how grateful and thankful I am for the God we serve and for the blessings he continues to provide me.
