My mom taught me at a young age that everything comes back in style. She even argued that if you keep anything long enough, it will become the hottest trend of the season at some point. I honestly think that’s why it’s so hard for me to part from my clothes.

She gave me this Gucci bag for Christmas in 2002. It went out of style a year or two later. Big bags took over, and I swore these tiny shoulder bags we adored on Mischa Barton on the OC were gone for good. But I listened to my mom and kept it, and I’m glad I did.
Isn’t it kind of wonderful that everything old can be made new again? And you get to enjoy it in your new life, after so much has changed, and wear it in a way that fits the new you. How awesome is that?

Going to explain my absence in my next post. It’s good to be back.

I was looking for an exciting summer read, and this page-turner is it. Think all the juicy stuff we want in a beach read: love, lies, deceit, mystery. A.J. Banner compared it to GONE GIRL. Need I say more?

What’s your stance on dating apps?

I’ve had good experiences and bad, of course. My friends particularly enjoy the bad for the comedic value — their favorite story probably being when a guy walked out of the restaurant on our date when I told him I was a vegetarian.

This was especially confusing as we had already spent an hour enjoying ourselves over drinks in the East Village, and I knew things were going well. He just said, “I’m sorry, but I have to leave.” I thought it was a joke and he’d turn around laughing, but I watched him walk down 9th street and never look back. What a time to be alive, right?

But in both New York and London, I’ve always found myself turning to Bumble to meet someone new. I love that women are in the driver’s seat, and it allows me to be more direct and vulnerable in ways I honestly wouldn’t do at a bar. I’ve never been one to walk up to a guy I’m interested in and start a conversation — which is a shame! I met my first love because my friend had the courage to do just that when I was out with her and she saw a guy at the bar, and I met his cute friend. We all sat together, and the rest is history.

The point being that Bumble allows you to make the first move, and the best relationships of my life have been a result of that courage. Here in London, the guy I’m dating now had the courage to ask if I would join him at his table. He said he had a 50/50 chance, but if I said no, he’d be in the same position he was in if he said nothing at all. He’d be without a Daphne, but guess what? I said yes.
