Não temos nada a perder 🇵🇹

I went on a solo trip to Faro, Portugal! I got to meat some wonderful people and made some friends that all had different and exciting stories to tell! I took this trip while being abroad as a way of proving to myself that I could navigate a different country and different language all by myself. This trip help shaped my confidence in taking more chances to independize myself more. I learned more about the portuguese culture and just how rich there history is. From the people in the markets to the people visiting Faro everyone was always so welcoming. Taking this solo trip was something i had always wanted to do but was always too scared, I used to let fear take control of my decisions but i grew up a little bit more and realized that instead of letting fear control my life id rather face my list of fears and experience life for what it is! I cant wait to one day go back and this time show others the places i discovered and walked with only the faith that the Lord was guiding me and protecting me every step of the way!🫶🇵🇹 taken in Faro, Algarve, Portugal by @daphney.reyes7

Happy Easter!!! (Though I’m a day late with my post😅) this past weekend I got the chance to be in Rome, Italy for all of the Paschal Triduun🫶. It was a wonderful experience and I knew I’d fall in love with this city almost immediately. Although I did not realize that the more I experienced and discovered about myself the more it would allow me to miss my family and friends more than ever🫶 This trip allowed me to meditate and pray a lot something that this past Lent weighed heavily on my heart to do more of; at times I questioned God for allowing me to be somewhere I know many dreamed of and at other times I celebrated with joy because many people this weekend lived it with me and I did not feel so alone. Going into this weekend I had a lot of questions, a lot problems I needed God to solve or at least kept saying that was the case, saying that once I had the answers everything would be okay, I’d be okay. Funny enough though none of my problems were fully resolved, none I can give a straight answer at least, instead I was met with peace and love in my heart that everything was as it should be, I felt for a moment like Mary Magdalene when she is weeping for not being able to find Jesus at the Tomb, only to later find out Jesus appears to her and sends her on a mission to tell the others of the good news! So to that I say thank you because there so much more I learned this Easter and it’s insane to me that around this time last year I had just gotten confirmed with my sister in Christ Lily, and today I can say that I got to see Jesus through so many people this weekend and of course I can’t forget I got to see Pope Leo, who held a wonderful Easter mass but above all did not falter to hold the Cross for all 14 Stations of the Cross. I can’t wait for what may come next, but above all friends and family don’t forget to tell the people around you just how much you love and miss them🫶✝️ sometimes they just need to hear it again to believe it✝️ taken in Rome, Italy by @daphney.reyes7

Turning 21 by the beach in Barcelona was a once and a lifetime opportunity, it had always been a dream of mine and to be there on such a special day was such a blessing💕 one that was made possible by one of my best friends who surprised me, LYDIAAAAAA🫶. But as I travel with or without a phone (remember not to leave your phone in a taxi in Barca😅) I am once again grateful to be able to live out my dreams and trust in His plans especially during this time of Lent. Joel 2:12-13 “Even now, says the Lord return to me with your whole heart for I am gracious and merciful.” For me during this time Trusting the Lord has been my walk of this season, but trusting in Him and going to Him as I am with all my flaws and imperfections is something I am working on because sometimes I believe I need to go to Him as this perfect person but yet I am mistaken every time I believe that. The Lord doesn’t want me only at my best but rather He wants all of me whether that’s at my best or at my worst or even somewhere in between, then it’s okay! So as someone who has gone the last 2 weeks without my phone and has had a chance to disconnect from social media and just fully turn my attention to Christ in a completely unknown country for me, its okay. Because the Lord watches over all his children, mistakes are to be made, but they’re also to be learned from😅. So I say, Barcelona, Spain until we meet again💕 by @daphney.reyes7

Deciding to study abroad is hard, you leave behind everything you’ve ever known, from friends, family, work, anything you name it🥺. You realize as your packing to leave how your life fits in a suitcase that you try not to be over 50lbs. I wish I could say somedays it’s gets easier to miss people less or just video calling would fix missing each person less, but that’s not the case some days. Being abroad has helped me discover how much there is to see outside of my small world in the States, but it has also allowed me to dream bigger! I’ve had so many new memories in just my short time here and have made so many new friends, whom I love dearly! For these next months I’ll be filling up that passport as much as I can and I’ll be trusting His plan because I really don’t know where I’d be without Him🫶. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths” Proverbs 3:5-6
This year I have learned that trust is a word that gets used a lot, it can mean the world to some and little to nothing for others. But what I realized with this is the idea that if someone does me wrong then that trust is broken and it can never be mended again. Yet if we use this idea towards everyone around us, then we should look within and ask ourselves how many times have we done the same towards God? How many times have we broken His trust? Yet how many times has He forgiven us, and accepted us back with flaws and imperfections? So I state again this year I learned about trust but not trust in what’s around me, nor what I believe I can control but rather TRUST in His plan for me. Trust that I don’t need to have it all figured out, trust that whatever is next in my life comes with purpose. A purpose He has for my life🩵 so as a chapter or change begins I thank all my old and new friends that came along and helped God pick up my pieces, they have been my rocks🫶 I do wonder though where I’ll be heading towards next… taken in HIS Plan by @daphney.reyes7
