I posted this on my story but then I realized I didn’t want this to be gone tomorrow. I am so ANGRY at the number of people we have allowed to die at the end of a barrel. I have heard nearly all the arguments for and against gun control laws. But simply put; I dare anyone to tell me that someone’s right to live should be secondary to your right to own a firearm. I genuinely don’t understand how we can keep protecting someone’s right to a WEAPON based on a precedent set 231 years ago when no one imagined these weapons would be used to kill children in schools. Are we so archaic and unimaginative that we must base all our beliefs on the words of men who haven’t lived for centuries? I’m tired of wondering if I would every want to be a mother in this country. I’m tired of posting about tragedies and hoping the people in charge will do better. I’m tired of the news stories that have blurred together because I’ve become so numb to all the violence. And I’m really damn tired of saying “sorry for your loss” while secretly being glad that at least it wasn’t someone I loved. And if you’re not tired of it, then I don’t think you’ve been paying attention. by @daplatzer
