In 2026 there’s no reason to wear an untucked button up UNLESS it’s being used as layering piece, but even then not just any shirt will do… it’s best if it’s a rugged material like chambray or flannel.

The exception to this guideline is if your style is rugged, rural, or rustic at which point the button up is typically still a layering piece whether tucked or not.

So if you’re wondering if you can wear a button up untucked, smart money says don’t!

Fall brunch cruise?!!? 🍂🥞🛳️

A suit and tie dress code can get sweaty… As much as I want to protect my white shirt from sweat stains, I refuse to ruin the look by wearing a tee shirt under it!

How should men dress for cocktail attire? It’s simple: wear clothes you’d drink a cocktail in.

Or more specifically, a fairly dark suit that you differentiate from work attire with festive details in your shirt, shoes, and/or accessories!

Lace up shoes over slip-ons, but monk straps work here too.

Don’t skimp on the accessories.
