A few months ago, my team and I had the opportunity to bring @meski.sf to life. We were given this modern and lifeless turnkey space (the old Members Only building) and less than 3 weeks to concept, design, pitch, source, implement, and install 🫠 they said it couldn’t be done, but we did it and were able to soft open on Valentine’s Day during NBA All-Star Weekend. WHEW!

Countless late calls, deck revisions, sourcing and tariff nightmares, coming up with new execution strategies at the 11th hour… the girlies went through it with this one!

Super proud of the team for the multiple 12+ hour install days and sweat equity put in my @mststapleton, @leena_ds, @sumifleur, and our fearless leader @by_kalu — forever in awe of your vision, all the dreams you turn into reality, and grateful for all of the opportunities you share with me.

Meski is an Afro-Latin restaurant + gathering space that celebrates Ethiopian and Dominican cuisine. It’s a cultural whirwhind to wrap your head around, and most people scratch their heads when thinking about how those two ideas comes together — but I think @chefnel4, @mrfassil, and @money23green executed their vision flawlessly.

This past week in Tahoe, HOKA honored their top endurance athletes with custom hats from @virginiacityhatmaker, paying homage to the iconic history of the @wser. Legend has it that Western States originated as a 100-mile horse ride, and one year when a horse dropped ill during the race, the rider finished the trail on foot — only to inspire the notion that this distance could be conquered by humans.

This past weekend these brave HOKA athletes conquered the Western States 100, with 3 runners each in the men’s and women’s top 10.

Tipping my hat to this incredible team that brought this project to life. Honored to have been apart of this.

After sitting in my drafts for over a year, it just felt right to get this out today 🎈 Collaborating with my dawg @watchmarkas on a track called YIN YANG was significant. We’ve had many long discussions over the years about allowing space for our darkness and light to coexist.

I’ll be honest though, I laughed when he first asked me to intro the video. Not me in front of the camera lmaoooo

But as the project took shape, it clicked. To tell this story for real for real we both needed to confront our own shadows. He was stepping back into the vulnerability of releasing music, and I had to rise to the challenge in my own way.

Re: wardrobe, we kept it simple and clean — started with all black and gradually added lighter pieces as a way to illustrate the journey from living in your shadows to stepping into your own light ☯️

Grateful to be able to share meaningful projects with my people.
