The biggest lesson I learnt in my 20s is to stop settling in the wrong rooms just to prove I belong there. I want to be surrounded by people who get to witness, appreciate and capture THIS version of me. 🕺🏻 The journey over the past year has lead me into many rooms, and I am proud to say I am finally able to read the room, so to speak. @yvonnekoall was in one of those rooms.. and believe me when I say, she will also be in the room I choose to settle in. ❤️ Thank you for capturing the version of me I thought I had lost many years ago. Your photography skills are incredible 😭 by @darahel
I know I‘m always quick to judge Düsseldorf, but this past month was a dream 😍 (hence why its taken me this long to post 😅) @mamafestival.de - I was humbled and inspired by all the incredible mommies that created this event within the space of THREE months with ZERO budget. 🤯 @dr.shuling_tan and @nat_wong I am still speechless! 🥹 @heymama.de delivered a speach that had most of us mommies in tears! Thank you for reminding us of what really matters. I am blessed to have recorded an episode with Catherine a while back, which will be out very soon. 🤩 @gentleman_official performed in Monheim (I know, right! 😂) and what a show it was. Dutty whining in the front row 🥳 Look at how beautifully synchronised the birds flew their rounds. Reminded me that there‘s so much beauty in togetherness and not every flock of birds flies the same route 🥹 The s*x.now exhibition is on in the @nrwforum at the moment. The lovely @daring.daria gave an incredible show 😍 A gentle reminder that we are all sacks of skin and bones with funny looking bits walking around. Defo worth a visit. 👏🏻 @lifeindus and @duesseldorfsenators put together the most wonderful family event I have ever experienced. I really hope it will be back next year (looking at you, Jenna 👀😂) Also looks like there‘s a baseball talent in the family - any excuse to get my hands on one of those stunning senator jerseys 😅 @tonyafro_ came to town with his wonderful energy, music and moves. 💃🏻 and I got to taste the delicious @kwesi.experience while enjoying @tonylefleur company. I’ve got to admit, I’m happy to finally get back to “the office” @nio_house with my lovely @juliac.lab @evesfermentationlab finally opened her doors and I got to try my first (super delicious very non-grassy) matcha 😍 Can‘t wait to learn more about fermentation and microbes. @jansenluisa created such a beautifully organised event. @soulfoodsociety fed us some of the best sandwiches and nibbles I have eaten and @yavi_moves made me cry (in a super good way) My heart is full. Thank you all for working hard so I could enjoy ❤️ Düsseldorf is not too bad I guess 🤭 by @darahel
😩 In meinem ganz normalen Kleid.
Das war immer mein Platz.
Die Geschichte zu erzählen.
Die Bühne zu bereiten.
Stille mit Worten zu füllen.
Worte, die Herzen erreichen. Denn ohne Erzählerin, keine Geschichte.
Ohne Stimme, keine Emotion.
🫶 by @darahel

I’ve been a little quiet on here this year so far. Truth is, I don’t really have words for what I witnessed over the past month and a half. A strong, stubborn (& often a little delusional) man slowly lose his battle to an invisible assassin. Getting weaker and more weary day by day. Truth is, although his chances were zero, he kept fighting. Telling all of us he was going to beat the fucking daylights out of this disease. Right until the day before he left us. Truth is, we had a terrible relationship for most of my adult life. Because I think we were just too alike in too many ways. Truth is, I wish I could have him back so he could send me up the walls with his silly remarks one more time. Truth is, I am incredibly grateful I had the chance to be there for him when he needed me most. Truth is, this has affected me a lot more than I will ever let on and I don‘t think I‘ll ever be the same person again. Truth is, I wish I could say „Gute Nacht Papa, bis morgen“ one more time. by @darahel
