Before Fizzy & Suds began, I found myself in particular inner turmoil , wishing that Autism would stop taking from me and instead offer something back. Just a month later, it did. It gave me this project.

Fizzy & Suds has been a homecoming to childhood whimsy. This project is reshaping the way we view employing, representing and creating alongside Neurodivergent people. It proves a message we have shouted for so long - That Neurodivergence is creatively underrated!

There is a rare kind of glory in watching something that once made you feel isolated transform into a source of connection, creativity, and sheer wonder. What once felt like a burden is now recognised as magic. The becoming of yourself is finally beginning.

I am profoundly honoured to have worked alongside so many fellow neurodivergent artists who shaped this show. They play a vital role in the whimsy that Fizzy & Suds represents, but they also pioneer new attitudes towards diverse media.

Representation doesn’t have to be complicated. It only has to be intentional. by @darcidipiero

feeling very grateful for fizzy and suds today. it’s so easy to feel so alone as an AuDHDer, navigating a world you have felt alien from since the very start.
children are our most treasured minds, which are equal and deserving of energy and value. it is the most diverse and unique of minds that may pioneer discoveries, and as a community we deserve to show up for that . 🩷 by @darcidipiero

Too often, is it easy get stuck in believing that being neurodivergent means that there’s a whole world you will never connect to.
And it’s true…being autistic can often feel like being an alien. It can feel like the world around you is turning faster than you can process, faster than you can comprehend.
But there’s a beautiful part to being “from another planet”
It means you have something unique, special and different to offer. And surely, you can’t be the only alien walking around on this planet wondering how you got here and where you fit in. Radically expressing yourself as an autistic person is the KEY to connecting with the world. You deserve to inspire yourself every day, and naturally, it may even inspire someone else too ✨ by @darcidipiero

This Neurodiversity Pride Day, and with World Music Day just around the corner, we’re exploring the power of music with neurodiversity consultant and early childhood educator, @darcidipiero

Throughout the week, we’ll be diving into some key themes around music, neurodiversity and connection, including:

✨ Why music can be such a powerful tool for communication
✨ How music supports the connection between children and caregivers
✨ The role of rhythm in regulation
✨ Practical ways families can use music in everyday life

A favourite song can be so much more than entertainment. For children, music can tell a story, carry a feeling or name a need when words alone are just too much (or not enough!).

It is a powerful bridge to connection and regulation, and becomes even more cherished when it is shared.

It may sound oxymoronic but…
The simplicity of kids books allows for their minds complexity to be safely & gently explored.
When we read to our kids , we allow big feelings to be held in small hands & big ideas to prosper.
Honestly, we could all stand to read a few more ourselves 😉
