You are looking at the 2025 Downtown Arts Special Commission for City Hall!!

Never in my 25, now 26 😝, years did I think I’d get a city commission. But here we are! 2024 was a year of immense personal and educational growth for me as I began to truly understand who I am in the context of the world around me. I spent the first half of the year being a student, then got the opportunity to share that knowledge at the two universities that shaped me into the artist I am today.

This painting is not only a manifestation of my love for teaching, but also a celebration of education at a time where its value is increasingly questioned and diminished.

Big thanks to @creativegreensboro for seeing the vision and trusting me with this opportunity.

26 feels different and I am so excited to see what this year of life has in store. Thank you all for the love and support!!

Monday I was honored as a @richlandtwo 2026 Black History Month Honoree

This was definitely not on my bingo card for 2026, but I am grateful! It feels great to be recognized by the school district that nurtured the artist and educator that I am today. by @dareal.kg

Today and forever we celebrate your RESILIENCE.

2025 was a year of using my free will and appreciating every experience. I traveled, I went to concerts, I was on the news, I did a commission for city hall (still can’t believe that), I did my first mural, I taught A LOT, I got into photography, I spent more time with family and more.

My phrase this year was “let’s just see what happens” as a way to not stress myself out over unattainable goals while still putting in the effort regardless of outcome. In 2026 I plan to keep putting myself out there, and to keep utilizing that free will to the FULLEST EXTENT!!! by @dareal.kg

Grey Scale moments in Japan 📷

Since beginning this photography journey it’s been so fun to see what images I get while on the move. We were moving a lot so most of these photos were taken without any idea.
Turned out to be some of my favorite photos from the whole trip.

Reflections in Japan.

I decided that I need to take more photos of myself. This time with the intention of capturing the scenery around me so that each memory feels specific and meaningful.

1. Police station in Ginza. (The man in the background said he liked my shoes)
2. In Ginza while we were waiting on fluffy pancakes. (Good ash by the way)
3. In an alley of a night market before we left Kyoto.
4. Family Mart pit stop while we wore our kimonos.
5 & 6. Convenient store trip the first night in Japan (delirious at this point 😴)
7. Headed back to the hotel after riding the metro (surprisingly easy to navigate)
8. Walking down the street in Kyoto before it started raining again
9. Had to snap a lil solo pic 😁 by @dareal.kg

You’ve never been to Japan? Can’t say the same 🇯🇵 by @dareal.kg
