36 feels…old. I went from die hard IPAs to sipping lagers this year! I thought Coors light was alright. What?! At the end of this night out, I came home sober 😆. It’s time to take care of this body and get in the habit of self-care before more of life hits. I love life, though—keep it coming. Happy Birthday to me! by @darendien

I’m honored The California Civil Rights Summit will be screening our short film, Birth of a Mind, followed by a panel discussion with yours truly. There’s going to be some 250 activists, thought leaders, and legislators in one room discussing how to dissolve hate in California. Just doing my part. Don’t forget to do yours. by @darendien

Thank you to a young lady no more than 10 years old who held a sign that said “KIDS AGAINST KIDNAPPING”

Yes, let them melt.

First they came for the communists And I did not speak out
Because I was not a communist.

Then they came for the socialists And I did not speak out
Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me And there was no one left
To speak out for me.

When San Francisco went dark, their love didn’t. What could’ve stopped a wedding only revealed how strong it already was. Yes, the city lost power on their big day. Plans out the window, the venue even kicking everyone out. Yet what I witnessed was grace, patience, and pure calm in the chaos - two people grounded in each other, trusting the day would still be theirs no matter what, where, or how. And guess what? The night found a truly magical way ✨ They married. They danced. They were surrounded by love.
