Back in 1986, band rehearsal meant handwritten setlists, cassette recordings, printed tabs, and stopping mid-song to argue over who came in early. If you wanted to remember a new idea, you grabbed a tape recorder and hoped someone remembered to hit record. Today, bands can share demos instantly, pull up charts on a tablet, record rehearsals on a phone, and send changes to the whole group before anyone leaves the room. The preparation has changed. But there’s still no substitute for getting the band together and playing the songs live. That part hasn’t changed since 1986. What’s one rehearsal habit your band still does the old-school way? #FlashbackFriday #DAREStudios #BandRehearsal #LongIslandMusic #MusicHistory by @darestudiosli
🤠 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT | Big City Cowgirl Country music isn’t just a sound for Big City Cowgirl, it’s part of her story. A songwriter, vocalist, and entertainer, her love for Country Music was first passed down through her mother and has continued to shape the music she creates today. Her songwriting draws inspiration from across genres, with a special love for Traditional Country, Red Dirt, Outlaw Country, and Bluegrass. Whether a lyric or melody hits in the middle of the day or out of nowhere, the goal is always the same: Create songs that connect with people and become part of the soundtrack of their lives. Big City Cowgirl has been recording at DARE Studios since 2016, and we’re proud to have been part of her musical journey for the past decade.
