Amidst the vastness and beautiful melancholy of Eastern Europe, nothing moves me more than the sight of LGBTQ+ people finally breathing free.

My friends say I laugh a lot out of nowhere — so, well, sue me. (Most of the time, I’m remembering something or I just had a funny idea.)

Cake forever. The special occasion is whenever you decide it is.

Sometimes you just have to sit at the bar alone and enjoy every single moment of it.

Yes, I’m addicted to Rosalía, and I listened to her albums on every walk I took.

Sometimes I miss smoking, but I’m also very happy that I quit.

But the most important thing I want to mention:

I think the worst thing you can do is not mention it at all. I don’t know how to say this the right way. But what I do know is that it can’t be right — the poverty outside the hotel walls. Inside a five-star hotel, there’s a buffet that could feed all the people around it who don’t even have their most basic needs met. I would never want to unsee it, because it’s necessary to acknowledge and talk about it. But it was hard — and it’s a huge privilege to say that it was hard, and then to fly back to a better life.

I would love to be able to change this injustice in any way, or at least support those who are trying to. I don’t have a solution, but I would love to learn from people who may have found ways to make a difference. taken in Egypt by @dariaklayn
