New editorial illustrations for Roads & Kingdoms🪎🤩

A Story of Trade, Taste & Unexpected Connections.

The story explore the potato as more than just food - a symbol of memory, resilience, and survival, connecting past, present, and an uncertain future.

I imagined the potato as a glowing treasure, holding layers of history, memories, and meaning passed down through generations. Something so ordinary at first glance, yet carrying so much of the past within it, and perhaps something essential for generations to come.

I love how a seemingly simple subject can open up a much bigger story about people, culture, and survival.

A quick turnaround for Al Majalla 🙌
What makes us believe there’s a hidden plot behind everything?

This illustration explores the psychology behind conspiracy theories - from our need for certainty and control to the role of trust in institutions.

When the world feels uncertain, a clear explanation can be more comforting than accepting that some things are complicated, or simply unknown.

Thank you, @sara.london for your trust! 💛

Being Ukrainian and having family under Russian attacks makes working on topics like this especially challenging. Some subjects stir up a lot of conflicting feelings in me😔

This illustration was created for Foreign Policy for a piece exploring the revealing vocabulary that has emerged around authoritarianism in Russia.
How language evolves as people try to describe, understand, and navigate an increasingly repressive reality.

The task was to show the figures moving forward rather than simply fleeing - carrying a sense of resistance, but also the complexity of living within such a reality.

At the heart of the concept is language as a way of confronting and making sense of power, with fragments of Cyrillic woven into the image as traces of that struggle.

The October issue of The Lancet Infectious Diseases is now live 💙

This cover illustration accompanies the HAPPEN study, a large multicentre trial in Australia exploring whether regular oral care can help prevent non-ventilator hospital-acquired pneumonia.

As always, my task was to translate a complex medical topic into a clear and engaging visual story for the cover, something I genuinely enjoy about working with scientific subjects😍

Thank you to Art Director Marco De Ambrogi and the Lancet Infectious Diseases team for the opportunity 🤩

A recent project I really enjoyed working on for Foreign Policy’s Analytics independent research division, in collaboration with the Mozilla Foundation 🤩

The project looks at how AI is changing the creative economy and what that might mean for creativity and creative work in the future. It includes a research report as well as an interactive simulation.

I created the main illustration and three spot illustrations for the project, exploring these ideas through visual metaphors and a few different perspectives on creativity, technology, and the future of work.

Art direction by Sara Stewart ✨

Thank you to the team for the opportunity and for trusting me with this project🥰

A new editorial illustration for The Drift Magazine, created for Henri Lipton’s story about an underemployed freelancer who gets drawn into a secretive community of morbid gamblers on the Dark Web.

I visualized the prediction-market dashboard as something submerged and distorted - a world where numbers, probabilities, and human lives become increasingly difficult to separate.

“A vague feeling somewhere between shame and pleasure…”

Read the story in Issue Eighteen of The Drift.

Excited to share this cover illustration I created for Weizmann Canada’s Year in Review 2025 ⭐️

The main idea was to show science as a gateway to the future - a glowing portal opening up to new possibilities and bringing together different areas of research, from AI and quantum science to neuroscience, genetics, sustainability, and astrophysics🧬✨💫

People move toward the light, as a small reminder of the bigger picture - how today’s discoveries can help shape a healthier and more sustainable future for people and our planet. 🌱

Grateful to the @i2iart and Rebecca Cuneo Keenan for the opportunity!

Based in Canada, Ukrainian illustrator @darialada_illustrator ‘s illustrations immediately caught our attention with striking color palettes, rich textures and layered storytelling.

She describes her art as a blend of nature, Art Deco influences and social themes, often infused with a touch of Ukrainian folklore for an added narrative dimension. Before transitioning to digital illustration, she explored traditional art forms like painting, sculpture and bas-relief. by @darialada_illustrator

Cover illustration for the September 2026 issue of The Lancet Infectious Diseases 🦠✨

This month’s featured study looks at dihydroartemisinin - piperaquine as an alternative treatment for Plasmodium vivax malaria in Latin America, with promising results in preventing early recurrence.

For the illustration, I imagined a lone traveller navigating a canoe through a mysterious, microscopic landscape inspired by the malaria parasite - a visual metaphor for navigating the challenges of treatment, resistance, and recurrence.

So happy to see this one on the cover! ❤️
