‎‏Some photos from the exhibition AND MY HAND, SEARCHING FOR YOUR HAND, SEARCHING FOR MY HAND, SEARCHING FOR YOUR HAND, SEARCHING FOR MINE, curated by me, at the Paris 8 University Gallery ☄️

‎‏« Through three elements in the space (a song by Nick Cave, a video work by Guy Ben Ner, and a framed documentation by Zoe Harodi from my previous exhibition, curated in the same space) – the exhibition seeks to examine the distance between creating communication or human touch, and the fading of the moment, transforming it into a memory, a testimony in the form of an image or object.

‎‏Nick Cave’s “Final Rescue Attempt”, presented as a video recording of a live performance and as fragments of lyrics scattered on the walls of the space, was written after Cave’s wife returned to him and promised never to leave him again. Opposite it stands the video work “Drop the Monkey” by artist Guy Ben Ner, in which it is revealed that he uses funding granted to him to maintain his relationship with his lover in Berlin, even as she breaks up with him during the film.

‎‏The two films, positioned facing one another, seek, despite their differences (one is a documentation of “real life,” the other an artwork; one speaks of a lover who returned, the other of one who left), to weave a story about the gap between life and art, and the pursuit of love in all its forms (between the artist and the audience, between the artist and himself, between the man and his lover).

‎‏The final element, a framed photograph, a testimony from the previous exhibition curated in the same space, seeks to bring the curatorial act itself into focus – an act that contains an attempt, at times successful, at times failed, to create and weave a connection and dialogue with the viewer. »
