Chapter 3 Nova Vita: Memento Mori

“Thank you.”
No more does she grieve to herself. She receives the Lord’s grace with thankfulness. As she closes her eyes and pray, Zoey reemerges.

Chapter 3: Nova Vita
Memento Mori

Phase 1: The flowers bloomed with every step she took. She reflects on being in the hospital, him by her side as she prepares to give birth. With him there, she felt as though she could make it through anything. But shortly after having the baby, she did not survive. She grieved, and shortly after, died from heart failure, leaving the love of her life behind in a cruel world.

As she continues to walk through the forest, Zoey notices a small white light in the distance. What is that? A sense of familiarity. A gift. Zoey’s breathing becomes uneven, her eyes begin to well up with tears, blurring her vision, yet she can still make out the small bright light. She runs toward it and drops to her knees to embrace it. Her daughter. She’s here. But how?

“My darling, I can’t believe it!” The closer she got, the dimmer the light became, and the more she could see the little girl’s face light up with excitement. Zoey hugged her tightly, the little girl returning the embrace.

“Praise YAHWEH, our Lord, our God! Thank you YAHWEH, thank you!” She praises God. A piece of him. Even though he was left behind, she has him. Through her suffering, something was made anew. A flower which bloomed from the destruction of her loved one’s soul. She cries louder and hugs tighter.

Chapter 3: Nova Vita
Memento Mori

Phase 2:
Elliandra begins exploring deeper into the unknown forest as she reflects on her past life, leaving her daughter behind, her fiancé behind. Her heart becomes heavy, praying that God will allow her to hold on to this pain for just a while longer, the pain being the only proof of their existence, as she begins to become overjoyed in the Lord’s presence. She also grieves.
