hello to all 100 of you!!! still on hiatus but i’m super excited to announce that the @mentoring.matters edit of my recent article on london’s dying nightlife covering @twoeighteenldn event is out on the mentoring matters substack.

hey all! long time no article 🫠😬 i’ve been on a hiatus for the past few weeks working on something totally exciting that i would love to spoil but won’t at the moment.

with that being said, i’m briefly back with a new article dissecting the prevailing sentiment that london’s ‘dead’ or ‘dying’ nightlife is killing club kid fashion as explored in a @dazed article. i look at it through the lens of the block party of the year thrown by @twoeighteenldn @whathappenswhenanythinggoes @inkstain3d and discuss how and why the initial argument falls a bit flat in our current changing party climate. i would love to hear your thoughts & opinions esp if you were also in attendance ⭐️

SKINS DEEP: The Convergence of Gaming & Fashion

hey everyone! long time, no article but that ends today 😛 as the title suggests, this month’s is an exploration of the convergence of gaming and fashion and how the concept of self-congruity theory help us understand where these collaborations stem from!

the title ‘skins deep’ is a double entendre meant to play on fortnite skins and the fragmentation of oneself into multiple selves that exist within the confines of self-congruity theory!

EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT

c’est la guerre! so, where is art deco?

hi guys! new article this week, as promised.

this article started off as a deep dive on art deco but i quickly reconfigured upon researching more and more into a topic area as fascinating as art deco and what it was emblematic of!

what started as analysis quickly turned into cultural commentary as i was able to draw parallels between the world then and now. these parallels then made me question why is it that we were able to push the envelope then and why we can barely break the seal now? long story short- there isn’t one answer, hence the open ending, but it’s fun to ask why, no?

hi guys!!! i promised an article yesterday and look how mother provided so quickly for her kids 🍼😋. i’m not gonna yie, i projected an article a month and i didn’t post in april but february has 28 days this year so im giving myself the extra day the leap year would afford this month #whatever

but anyways, new article this month!! this one is basically an ode to my childhood and growing up in Nigeria. it’s also completely unintentional that i wrote an article on them around the time the MJ movie premiered but i like to think that’s my psychic abilities manifesting once again 🧘🏾‍♂️🤌🏾🙈

hello everybody 😊😊 i’m so excited to share this one with you because if you know me personally, you know this is a topic that is near and dear to my heart!!

the amount of times i’ve watched recent music videos and asked myself “where are the video vixens” cannot be quantified so naturally, I must immortalise them in DWD

there were so many avenues I wanted to go with this article hence the time taken to write this one (i started straight after ‘C’est la guerre’ this time so I wasn’t being lazy 🙂‍↔️) but i’m ultimately happy with where I landed. well, i wish i spoke about specific vixens in depth but this article is already my longest and i know how you Gen-Z’s don’t like to read 🥸👴🏾 so if I feel like it, i may do character profiles on some of my favourites at a later date <3

hey everybody!!! i was able to squeeze out a new article this month despite it being my birthday & me being busy with planning a birthday potluck, and trip, all while building a website so clap for me 😗

anyways! this article was a request last month by my dear friends @parisunaka and @nvyrenda but it’s funny how the subject matter is relevant today because black people are- like usual- debating the semantics of hairstyling and what’s deemed ‘appropriate’

i was given the prompt to write about the ‘sympathy fro’ and had a multitude of directions I could go but this just felt the most appropriate to me 😊. i tried not to sound like @drumarjohnson but i think when talking about blackness, one unfortunately falls victim to doing so 😵‍💫😵‍💫

this is a stark departure from my usual content 😙😅
but- i’ve been wanting to deviate from using DWD as solely a cultural capsule but also as a true blog, therefore, i’m gonna post bits & pieces of my life on here! mostly digi-cam pics of my friends & i that i absolutely love, hold, & cherish but would never post on my main page 😝
