Thou most highest shalt give them a CROWN! 👑 For over 20 years you've found me and my high C's up and down the California Coast and there's no where else I'd rather be! What a privilege it is each time I find myself enveloped in the glorious sounds of music all around me...sung and played by old and new friends. Thank you @slomasterchorale for the gift of discovering this wonderful piece by QUEEN Amy Beach. It's about time. So excited to share our concert with the Central Coast tomorrow. In commemoration of the birth of the great maestro Giuseppe Verdi…

It’s been nearly a year, but here is my Amami Alfredo. The most gratifying moment for any soprano who is blessed to have Violetta as part of her journey. Even better singing it to my real life love Nathan Granner as Alfredo. Thank you VERDI.

“I’ll be there, among the flowers, near to you always.
Love me Alfredo! Love me as much as I love you.” 🤍

Last month at Opera Orlando's "A Decade of Divas" concert, I got to share the stage with the incredible Jamie, and what made it extra special is that we built this arrangement together from the ground up. It was a collaboration on so many levels.

That kind of creative partnership doesn't happen all the time, and when it does, you feel it in the room. I definitely felt it.

Big love to @OperaOrlando for having us and @darlingdivajmc for being in love with me!

An opera on the subject of schizophrenia?

Join us at UCLA on June 27-29 for the World Premiere of The Center Cannot Hold Part 3: Beyond Recovery, composed by the intrepid UCLA Psychiatrist Kenneth B. Wells and based on the Pulitzer Prize winning memoir of Elyn Saks, who I have the honor to portray once again. Enjoy the slide show below of photos from TCCH Part 1, which premiered 10 years ago in the summer of 2016. Ken is also the composer of Veteran Journeys, an opera on the subject of PTSD, which is close to my heart.

It’s been wonderful to reconnect with my long time stage-partner in crime, the brilliant singing actress @daniellem007 as the Lady of the Charts (the psychotic version of Elyn) and to witness the beauty of @bristow.christina in her TCCH debut as Professor Saks, the fully mature version of Elyn reflecting back on her life. My job is to walk the vocal and emotional tight rope of Elyn’s reactions to events in her life as they happen. The role is a heavy lift, both in subject and vocal virtuosity, but with our brilliant Maestro, Caleb Glickman @lets_talk_about_geography and direction by the uber talented Megan Cooper @megthesalonniere I can see the finish line of this decade-long project of the heart.

Tenor @jonleekeenan portrays Will, the love of Elyn’s life in a tender and authentic way that makes our scenes easy; @april_c_amante and @mcleodonstage provide the blessing of friendship to Elyn as Alicia and Steve, and many other fantastic LA singers are a part of this healing and hopeful work. @braxtonaleta @steve.pence @ebp1977 @ivannasoprano @sweetsarahnade

We’d love to see you there, to experience original music inspired by tragedy and resilience. Learn and grow with us as we support de-stigmatizing mental health conditions through education, understanding, and support. It is both an artistic and a clinical environment, and I will never forget the journey of the past ten years as Elyn. 💜

🤭 CAPTION THIS!

What an incredible concert! Congratulations again to @operaorlando on 10 amazing years — no small feat! I’m so honored to have been part of the journey in some small way.

Bravi to the orchestra, Maestra, coro, Youth Company, the boys (@nathangranner @briancheneyofficial @gpreisser), the crew, and of course all the DIVAS. 💋 Until next time, my friends.
