Melkorca or Mael Curcaig, captured by na Lochlannaigh and taken to a slave market in Norway to be then bought by a married man from Iceland. For two years she refused to speak and only revealed she was the daughter of the mighty king Muirchatach Ó Néill of Grianan Aileach when she was caught speaking to her 2 year old son Olaf. #gaelichistory #ireland #iceland #vikings #laxdælasaga by @darraghmacanghaill

The next story will be about Mael Curcaig and the many horrible misfortunes and tragedies she suffered at the hands of the Norsemen #gaelichistory #melkorca #ireland #icelandsagas #laxdælasaga by @darraghmacanghaill

(Edit: I’m not lamenting that a lot of us didn’t take part, they should’ve never happened in the first place.)

Meanwhile the real Gaels were out West with names like “Domhnall Mac Dhomhnaill of the Cineál Dhomhaill in Dún na nGall”

Viking raid. I’m writing another short story/summary about Mael Curcaig daughter of Muirchertach Ó Néill of Gríanán Aileach in East Donegal.

She was captured by the Vikings and taken to Iceland, she had a son name Olaf the Peacock who married the daughter of the famous Egill Skallargrimmson

I actually hate TikTok so much, why is the audio never in sync when it is during recording and first playback. by @darraghmacanghaill
