Last night we had the most special and magical encounters of our lives! We got to spend some time with a rare white spirit moose. Also known as a ghost moose and albino moose.

I am part Cree so I call her the spirit moose, we believe that if you ever have the chance to see one, that it’s a sign of good fortune, good luck, or a good omen.

A night I will never ever forget. At one point I looked over at Tree with tears in my eyes, and told her how lucky we were to be able to experience this together.

Taken at dusk in Central Alberta. The light was not great, but It doesn’t matter.
Please do not ask for the location as I will not give it to help keep her safe, healthy and happy🤍 by @dartanner

This looks like a UFO coming in to land in the fields. One of my favourite shots that I took yesterday while out chasing storms in Central Alberta. This one was near Linden. by @dartanner

I am Cree and I was taught that the Northern Lights are connected to the spirit world and are spirits or ancestors dancing in the sky. I was also taught to never whistle at them, which was terrifying to me as a child haha! Taken around 5:30am this morning near Alix, Alberta. October 4/26

Intense Northern through the windows at the Big Valley roundhouse.

I still can’t believe we saw them swirling so high above our heads that night. The lights were so strong that you could see it in the town very clearly.

The BEST colours I’ve seen in my life!!!

Taking these photos made me late for work. But it was worth every moment!

Nothing beats a storm that produced multiple tornadoes, and then the sun starts setting.

What an incredible sight!
Taken this season in Saskatchewan.

We have a chance of some nice Aurora in the next couple of nights! If we’re lucky we’ll get some colours like this. I took this just outside of Alix, Alberta on a warm night.

Drive by shooting!

Sometimes you just don’t have time to pull over if you’re trying to get in front of the storm. So I have no choice but to shoot from the car as we’re racing to get ahead. Luckily my love @treetanner does most of the driving now, while I navigate. And just sometimes I actually like the shots that I take while flying down the roads🤣
