✨Thursday Night Tribe Vibes✨

This month has been nothing short of amazing!!! Sooooooo grateful to to the most high for the people in my life & this extra day the leap year has given us to spend together, the gift of time 🎁⏳

We all had an extra 24 hours & despite all the things going on in our crazy lives, we made a conscious decision to connect. My heart is sooooo full & the best has yet to come 🙏🏾🥹

June was exactly what I needed. 🌿✨

A month to breathe, reflect, celebrate, heal, and quietly prepare for what’s next.

Now it’s July. Q3… where did the time go? 😭🤷🏾‍♀️
 Half the year is already behind us & honestly, I’m okay with that. I don’t need to keep looking over my shoulder. The lessons came. Some growth happened & I have a very strong feeling that my best days are ahead.

To my village, my tribe, my lifeline… I thank you. ✨🫶🏾✨
You’ve held me together when I couldn’t do it alone, reminded me who I was when I forgot, and celebrated me even when I didn’t feel like celebrating myself.

Without you, I’m not sure I’d be standing here. With you behind me, there’s nothing I can’t do.
I may be the one chasing the dreams, but none of this happens alone.

Here’s to six more months of building, becoming, and betting on the life I’ve been working toward.
See you on the other side. 💥🚀

Harsh truth; If you want people to stop playing with you, you have to stop playing with yourself. Run this whole weekend back!!!! It was too good to be true. 🥰

20 years ago I walked away from one of the best universities in the country to do it my way. I learned a hell of a lot, but I’m back exactly where I started. If you truly know me, you know how absolutely broken I was, how long & hard I’ve worked to build myself up & why this small step means EVERYTHING!

The most valuable lesson I’ve learned in the last few months is 9 times out of 10 your inner critic is your biggest hater. Lay down anyone, and ANYTHING that weighs you down, especially your own insecurities…

Get out of your own way so you can fly.

This podcast truly is therapeutic sometimes.

Learning others journeys and laughing about the struggles is a strange way to stay motivated but oddly, it works.

And now after what felt like an entire episode of us being professional Debbie Downers LOL😭 I asked Rae to say something inspirational because dang….we cant go out like this hahah

It was a laughable moment but I just feel like when people watch the show, I want them to feel educated, informed, empowered, but most importantly, aware.

Whether you’re a consumer, patient, entrepreneur, investor, or somebody dreaming about entering this industry someday, I want people to understand the reality behind the smoke and mirrors 🍃

This industry was built on the backs of hungry entrepreneurs chasing opportunity while states rushed to legalize, make money, and regulate a plant they were never truly prepared to manage.

And disasteriously, the carrot 🥕 that’s been dangled in front of so many operators… just hasn’t matched the reality once people got inside.

So yes follow your dreams but execute strategically, run a creative play, and protect yourself and your mental health. Stop trusting that any state has “figured it out,” because the data shows the same mistakes repeating themselves state by state across the country.

But Rae said it best - Yes, “it’s a challenge… but that doesn’t mean impossible. And you know what they say….if it was easy, everybody would be doing it.”

And although in my plant world it feels like everybody is doing it… but the truth is, most of the world still hasn’t even caught up yet.

That means there’s still opportunity to shape the future, but the messaging has to evolve. Transparency is required and consumers and patients need to become part of the conversation driving accountability, policy, and change.

So chase your hunger, follow your vision, but just don’t put yourself in jeopardy blindly trusting systems that are still learning in real time too.

One of my objectives with @coffeeandcannabis.podcast is not just to highlight other entrepreneurs journeys, but to teach the audience there are other ways of doing business in this industry.

State government legalized a plant, and ignited an industry, but it leaned on hungry entrepreneurs looking for opportunity to help architect it. And we did just that.

But what was promised in return is not what many of us received. And much of that comes down to poor policy, government incompetence, and honestly… some of it feels intentional if we’re being real.

And when I hit the road….I hear too many stories too close to mine, and that’s never good. 😵‍💫

This space has taken a lot from me, like soooooooooo much….but I’m committed to highlighting entrepreneurs who are taking different paths, while still finding purpose in the work, but building with less restriction, more opportunity, and more opportunity to keep their wellness front and center.

C@nnabis harmed our communities through the War on Drugs, and now in many ways, this industry is re-harming those same communities.

Honored to be in the room for the Women of Boston EXTRAordinary awards ceremony surrounded by powerful women doing real work in our communities.

Met the Mayor (tried to keep it cool 😅) and bumped into a few organizers I truly admire.
