The world is a scary place right now. Unfortunately I’m not surprised. I’m so happy and proud of every woman coming forward in support of SA survivors. This is something that every single woman has dealt with and it’s incredibly horrifying to see how silent men have been on this topic. (I have seen a few posts from men and thank you) to the people trying to uncover Jane Does identity. Screw you. It’s me. It’s your mother. It’s your sisters. It’s every woman to ever exist. I was too young to even know it was wrong when it was happening to me. I did nothing until I told my mom and she handled it for me. I had no clue. I thought it was something that every girl went through and it was normal. I lost all my friends during that time. Nobody else saw it as big of an issue as I did. They were upset at me for getting their friend in trouble. So many people talk about how life ruining SA is for the man. But what about for the women. My life has been changed. I will not say ruined because I will forever be working on myself. But forever changed. Forever different. I cannot have a normal relationship with a man even 20 years later. I have panic attacks when I am complimented on my body. Part of this is why I started to cosplay. I needed to be shoved out of my comfort zone and I needed to learn how to handle it. It has helped a TON. But I still have work to do on myself. And sometimes I don’t know if I’ll ever maintain a regular relationship with men. All I can do is keep trying.

Screw you for trying to cover this up. Screw the world for letting this happen. Screw you to all the people who think this was okay in any capacity. It’s times like these I find comfort in my favorite superhero’s. I know if they existed they would handle this right here and now.
