Something I wrote 3 years ago.

Sin is a chronic illness, for most men it is a life time condition, a cycle of getting sick and then healing, a few steps back and a few steps forward.
A penitent’s Humility, acknowledging his littleness he trusts in God’s providence keeps them rejuvenated to battle and fight their condition once again.

bouts of concupiscence are like flareups within the Body, acting on sin is like itching a scab God wants to heal.

As a man with allergies exercises temperance in the things he eats, drinks, for some even the air he breathes.
A man struggling with sin excercises temperance with the things he does, says, and Thinks. That he may avoid another Flareup, that he may avoid the destructive nature of this disease.

The sweet holy sacraments are medicine and food for our dearly beloved souls, body, mind that we may be healed.
Being close to the sacraments is being Close to God. A Divine Doctor who has knowledge of every ailment, and a Cure for all ailments.
