If we haven't met yet, I'm Dasha, motorcycle rider from Moscow, Russia. Nice to meet all new followers and happy to have old ones still here with me.⠀

I'm a photographer, and I adore showing motorbikes, that's why all my instagram is full of them.⠀

I ride Suzuki V-Strom 650 and my bike has a name, I call her Cherry, and yes, my bike is "She". )))⠀

I travel as much as I can and I've visited 10 countries by now. I'm planning an adventure this summer, but I can't tell you now, it's a secret but I will share it as soon as possible))))⠀

I speak 2 languages, that's why my insta posts are both in Russian and English. My English is not perfect, so sorry for grammar mistakes and wrong punctuation.) I'm just learning!⠀

People often ask me how I’ve achieved what I have. How I keep going.

The answer is her. That younger version of me who had all those hopes and dreams, without knowing how she’d ever make them happen.

Every day, I keep going for her. I want her to see how far we can go.

I’m writing this with tears in my eyes because, f@ck, I’m proud of myself. Of everything I’ve done. Of all the times I kept going when it was hard.

I look at this picture and imagine telling her about our life now. Everything we’ve done. Everything we’re still dreaming of.

She’d be so f@cking proud of me.

And I’m finally letting myself feel that too. by @dashagor.nz

Hi, haven’t posted for that long, need some reintroduction.

I’m a crazy Russian girl who moved to the other side of the world with just a suitcase, a camera and a helmet.

I’m 38. Almost 7 years in New Zealand. I finished uni, bought a motorcycle and a car, built my own business, and I live happily alone in Auckland.

Sounds like a dream?

It wasn’t.

Divorce. Loss of two family members and a close friend. A 6 year relationship ending. A pandemic. A war. Economy that makes everything harder. Immigration stress, postponed visas, and all the beautiful chaos of starting over in a foreign country.

People admire what I went through. For me, I just couldn’t do it any differently. I choose my life every single day.

I turn 39 in a month. And my life is just beginning.

Date night roulette

Getting ready for a date.
Being single is basically ordering a “proper man” online with no tracking number.
Every time it’s a cat in a bag:
Will he pay or will he “go Dutch” like it’s a personality trait?
Will he be nice or will he act like I interrupted his sacred phone scrolling?
Will he be interesting or just… present?
Will he be on time? (Some of you have been late by hours. HOURS. That’s not “running late,” that’s a lifestyle choice.)
Will he even show up?
Anyway. Wish me luck. If I come back with a story, you’ll know how it went.

End of year notes (survived edition)

Christmas and New Year are coming, and apparently we’re all supposed to “reflect.” So here we go.
This year was hard. Like, character-building hard.
I left a 6-year relationship. Now I’m learning single life in real time:
finding a proper place to live
going on dates (see: roulette)
building my business
and yes, working part-time at IKEA, surrounded by furniture that has better relationship stability than most people
It’s been challenging, but boredom hasn’t stood a chance.
Bonus: my friends stay entertained because every time we meet, I show up with fresh stories like it’s a subscription service.
New year, same me. Just smarter. And louder about my boundaries.

5 facts about me:

1. I'd better work, than sit home. And I call myself lazy, lol
2. I spent more money on cameras and photo gear, than on anything else. And it makes me happy
3. I speak Russian (my first language ) not more than once a week and start forgeting words.
4. I prefer texting to phone calls. I call only if there's no other option to communicate.

I was never thinking I'll buy a car... But I got small crazy Mini and love it. Less than a bike though... It's been a year, so far so good.
