Some heroes wear stripes (and pacing flags)! 🏁💙💛

The Dashing Whippets are proud of our teammates who have helped runners chase their goals throughout this training cycle, from the 12- and 18-Mile Training Runs to the Bronx 10 Mile, Staten Island Half, and the @nycmarathon !

Huge thanks to our Whippet pacers: Jeremy Arthur, Francesca Muliawan, Will O’Connell, Sean Rankin, and Leo Trasande! 🙌

For our pacers, the experience is about the connections with fellow runners.

“It’s not just about hitting the right splits or keeping the pace locked in. It’s about the people you meet, the conversations along the way, sharing a few laughs, and helping make those miles feel a little easier,” Sean shares. “And when things get tough, it’s about encouraging runners to believe in themselves and keep pushing forward.”

Francesca adds, “marathons are hard! I am trying to make it a little easier for my runners so they can soak in the unbeatable atmosphere of the NYC Marathon”

For Jeremy, “it’s an exciting way to create meaningful connections with runners. Running can be solitary, but pacing is camaraderie.”

Thank you to our pacers for helping runners reach their goals and making race day even more memorable. Good luck to everyone lining up tomorrow! 🗽💙💛

Dashing Whippets team member David McGrath raced the Chicago Marathon with @hydrapak ! Find out about his hydration plan for Chicago:

“This was my 4th marathon, and at each of the last two, I ran with my HydraPak Tempo Pro. Before that, I had real trouble getting enough water in at the regular hydration stations during my first marathon. It was hard to get a full cup of water down at once (usually followed by 400m of coughing after it goes down the wrong pipe).

After that, I started to train and race with a water bottle and it was so much easier to take small, easy sips as I ran.

I was very excited when the Chicago Marathon announced that bottle refill stations were coming to the race, knowing I could rely on my own HydraPak and electrolyte mix the whole way through. Never having to worry about running out of water and needing to go back to the paper cups.

I lined up on Sunday with the HydraPak SkyFlask and with the heat in Chicago, ended up needing to go through all 4 bottle refill stations. Fortunately, the refill process was so quick and easy, I barely needed to slow down even when going at my PR pace through the first two stations.

Thanks to Chicago for a great day of running, and thanks to HydraPak for keeping me going out there in the heat! Hope to see more major marathons adopting these bottle refill stations soon!” - @davomickg by @dashingwhippets
