Making sense of life through art ✨

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I made this painting during a time when everything felt compressed, like life was moving around me, but I wasn’t moving through it. I tried to build that into the work.

“Girl in the Box” was selected for 100 Emerging Artists of 2026.

The jury mentioned “visual tension” and a “developing voice,” which feels right. I spent a lot of time chasing that.

The practice is still evolving, but it’s going somewhere. I’ll take that.

Congratulations to the other artists selected, it’s great to be in such good company.

Thanks @artstoheartsproject and @soniabblondon for including it 🤍

My brain associates personalities, colors, and traits with random things, like the days of the week or, in this case, the years. 2025 is red to me, and it smells like cherries—sweet, bold and tangy. And I love it. One of my oldest memories is of a pair of white socks with two cherries embroidered on the sides. And cherries are one of my favorite fruits.
2025 is officially the year of the cherry to me🍒

Magnolia: A Lifeline in Monochrome

Last October 🍂 , I signed up for painting classes because I was barely holding it together. The last few months had been unforgiving, and by mid fall, I knew I couldn’t fake it anymore. But I saw what was happening to me, and I actually asked for help. That’s something I’m giving myself credit for.

One of my doctors mentioned that working with your hands can help calm your mind. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but it turns out it’s true. Engaging in creative, hands-on activities can actually rewire your brain, reducing stress and helping you focus. When I thought about options, piano was familiar but felt too structured when I could barely think straight. Dancing? I could hardly get out of bed most days. But painting somehow made sense.

I’ve always doodled on random papers or in notebooks without really thinking about it (buying notebooks is another thing I’ve been consistently doing throughout the years 😅). So, I figured painting could be my way out. Those first classes were rough, though…I’d cry on the way there, hold back tears while mixing paints, and break down again on the way home. It felt ridiculous to finally be doing something I wanted to do for so long, but only because I was falling apart.

Form is emptiness. Emptiness is form

Hiroshi Sugimoto at @singaporeartmuseum back in July.

One of my favorite museums. Their exhibitions are always on point. ✨

Light, time, color, the vast darkness that engulfs you. A horizon reduced to a line. Almost nothing.
And the less there was to look at, the longer I wanted to stare.

I think contemporary art is getting to me.💛🖤 taken in SAM at Tanjong Pagar Distripark by @dashofpat

I spent a looong time thinking I had to choose a side of the road…Engineering or art. Logic or intuition. Technology or creativity.

Turns out, I don’t 🥳

Art and technology are not opposite directions. I see them now as different lanes on the same road.

So officially a student again, and this time to fulfill my other side, Arts at the @uocuniversitat 🎨

But I’m not leaving technology behind. It’s part of my life, the way I think and the way I create. I love creating on screen and off. I am not either/or. Now I am both/and.

Technology to make life easier and art to make it richer. And, hopefully, new ways to bring them together🤞🏻

Now I just need to figure out how to fit 48 hours into a day. 😅 Suggestions welcome, I know there are a few of you that did it already!

Same road, more of me. by @dashofpat

En martes, ni te cases ni te embarques. Pero sí se puede ir a Gijón a ver Pinturas de invierno de Hugo Fontela en la Galería Llamazares, merendar y, si tienes un amigo fotógrafo, que te caiga alguna foto bien hecha.

This is a huge milestone in my still young career as an artist (which still feels strange to say out loud), and definitely an encouragement to keep going.

Seeing my work in 100 Emerging Artists of 2026 makes me want to keep working, keep (over)thinking, keep creating, and keep listening to myself.

Most of what I create begins with intuition and my own experiences. I think of it as a kind of visual diary for the things I cannot say, or don’t yet know how to say. And it’s the best way I know to stay sane.

Thank you @artstoheartsproject for making space for these voices, and to @soniabblondon the curator of this edition, for recognising the work and helping artists connect with people and opportunities that can otherwise feel so difficult to access.

There is a line in the book that I really like:

“When Sonia opens a door, she holds it open and walks you through.”

That is exactly the spirit behind @studiotogallery . It also makes me very happy to share these pages with so many fellow artists from that community ❤️

A very important thank you to @marcosvega.es_fotografo , who photographed the artwork featured in the book and patiently made time for a last minute portrait shoot. These pages would not look the same without his talent.

Very grateful for this recognition. And now, back to creating. 👩🏻‍🎨🎨✨ by @dashofpat

The strange thing about sharing your work is that it feels deeply personal… and wildly unimportant to most people.
Both things can be true.
Post it anyway.

There has never been more beautiful interior design than today, yet so many rooms end up looking the same.

Maybe because decoration creates harmony.

But sometimes a room needs a little humor, or a memory, or a storm, or a pair of cherries 🍒

For me, the best art doesn’t just match the room. It gives it personality, its own story, and a reason to look twice. by @dashofpat
