My last day at Meta 🥲 I thought this day would be like just another day. I was a part of a mass layoff announced 2 months ago. So I had time to process this feeling. But somehow The whole day I felt so strange Then when I returned my badge, the security guy at the reception smiled and said “Good luck” That moment, I felt SO FREE. And now there’s a slightly crazy possibility that this wasn’t just my last day at Meta. Maybe it was my last day working in corporate ever. We’ll see 👀 --------------- If you’re new here, hi, I’m Dasom. I got laid off from my dream tech job and I’m giving myself six months to see if I can build enough income outside corporate that going back doesn’t have to be the automatic next step. --------------- last day at Meta, last day at work, getting laid off from tech, layoffs, life after layoff, life after corporate, career change in your 30s, starting over at 35, day in my life London, post layoff life, career change, Korean in London, London, London Career by @dasom__na

Seven days to pitch 25 brands. No portfolio, no clients. 😅 I’m Dasom. I got laid off from a tech marketing science role two months ago, and I’m starting UGC from scratch. I’m posting every day for this seven-day challenge to hold myself accountable. The goal: stop endlessly thinking and researching, and actually make the portfolio and send the pitches. If you’re also saving UGC reels, watching everyone talk about making money online, but haven’t done anything yet, follow along. I’ll share raw footage of what I do each day, including rewatching the numerous UGC reels I’ve saved on IG 😂 #UGCcreator #UKUGCcreator #UGCCreatorUK #BeginnerUGCCreator #UGCJourney ------------------ London UGC creator, starting UGC from scratch day1 of starting UGC from scratch, making money online ,UGC portfolio, pitching brands, making money with UGC by @dasom__na
Three years on my list. Finally made it to Normah’s. 💷 £25 per person for what we ordered. What we ordered: 🍜 King prawn curry laksa: rich broth, generous portion. Three spice levels available. I chose mild, which still had a kick. 🫓 Roti with dhal: crispy outside, chewy inside. Listed as a starter, easily a meal. 🥒 Acar nenas: pineapple, cucumber and onion salad. Sweet, sour, refreshing and a little spicy. 🌸 Bandung: cold milk with rose syrup. Loved it with the spicy laksa. 🍋 Mint lemonade: plenty of mint to look at, less to taste. ----------------------- 📍 Inside Queensway Market, through the souvenir shop. 🚶 We went around 6:30pm on Friday and it was almost empty. Staff said their booking system was down and they were only taking walk-ins, despite the website saying fully booked. -------------------- 📅 They told us Queensway Market is closing, with their last day here expected on 24 October. They plan to reopen elsewhere, potentially in 3–6 months. Check with them before travelling. 💷 Bring cash. We were also told bank transfer on the spot was an option. 🚨 NEW SERIES: Starting a supper club from scratch I’m sharing the behind-the-scenes of building a supper club for my new food business, @secretpantryofficial. First up: finding an event venue in London. I thought this would be the easy part 😅 I needed to know about the kitchen, capacity, equipment and, most importantly, the rate before I could even consider a place. But I quickly realised how hard it is to find all the details online. I kept having to send enquiries, wait for replies and sometimes, get ghosted👻 Then my friend @lefauxfluencer told me to “Peerspace it” and invited me to his party so I could see what he meant. Now I know where to start looking for our supper club venue: @peerspace 🪩 -------------------- #MadeInPeerspace #Peerspaceit #StartYourOwnSupperClub #StartingABusiness #PlanningASupperClub Startsupperclub how-to startsupperclub femaleentrepreneur londonsuperclub secretpantry by @dasom__na
👋If you’re new here, hi, I’m Dasom. I’m a huge foodie and obsessed with hidden local gems, whether that's a food spot or an experience. Follow me for London tips and honest reviews. I've lived in London for 9 years, and there is no keeping for me💫 @guruguru.uk is a tiny, casual Japanese restaurant in Angel, known for high-quality sushi at a surprisingly affordable price. 🍣The bluefin tuna set was incredible. The fish was thick and generous, the Guru Guru roll had a little shiso that lifted the flavour, and even the mini salmon maki was packed with salmon. ⌛The difficult part was the service. We waited over an hour for our food, and the team seemed overwhelmed by the sudden attention after the restaurant went viral. Nobody was rude, and the staff checked in with us at the end and apologised that they hadn’t been able to give us much attention that evening. I really appreciated their honesty and could see they were trying. I’d definitely return for the food, ideally at lunchtime or once things are a little calmer. 📍 Guru Guru, 9 Chapel Market, Angel, London N1 9EZ 💷 Around £20–£40 per person, depending on what you order 🍣 Try the bluefin tuna set, Guru Guru roll and mini salmon maki ⭐ Would I go back? 5/5 Save this for your next sushi craving and follow @dasom__na for more London finds. #londonaffordablesushi #londonhiddensushispot #londoncheapsushi #londonqualityjapanesefood #gurugurulondon london bluefin tuna sushi Angel restaurants Chapel Market restaurants London hidden gems Japanese food London Authentic Japanese food in London Life after corporate quit 9 to 5 new content creator by @dasom__na
I’d been hearing about ecstatic dance for a while, but had no idea what to expect how how ‘ecstatic’ it would be. The location was in a secluded, wild part of Regent’s Park that I didn’t even know existed. You receive the exact map coordinates after booking, which makes it slightly mysterious. You dance outdoors using silent disco headphones, usually barefoot, while a DJ takes you through a full musical journey. There’s no alcohol, no drugs, no talking on the dance floor and no treating it like a pick-up place. You’re simply encouraged to move however your body wants to move. Most people dance alone, but occasionally you catch someone’s eye and dance together like little kids who’ve somehow been best friends for 20 years. It felt incredibly safe, warm and completely free of judgement. There was also a cacao ceremony with guided reflection and genuinely one of the most delicious hot chocolates I’ve had. By the end, my body was completely exhausted, but mentally I was ridiculously happy. I felt like a child again. 📅Ecstatic Dance London usually runs two or three dance sessions a week across different London locations. The music, price, duration and format vary depending on the event, so check the individual listing before booking. 🎶Some are outdoor silent-disco sessions like this one, with a cacao ceremony and an optional picnic social. Others are longer indoor events with live percussion, wellness spaces or a fruit social afterwards. 👟You don’t need any dance experience. Just expect a sober, barefoot space where you’re free to move however you want. 💃 Comment DANCE and I’ll send you the direct Eventbrite booking link. —-------—-------—------- If you’re new here, hi, I’m Dasom 👋 Follow @dasom__na for London experiences & food, travel, and painfully raw footages of trying to rebuild my life outside corporate. —-------—-------—------- #ecstaticdancelondon #londonoutdoordance #londonparkdance #soberactivitieslondon #uniquethingstodoinlondon Regent’s Park events sober nightlife London London hidden experiences, silent disco London career pivot rebuilding life in 30s quitting job by @dasom__na
Have you had the similar experience before? The confusing part for me is that I genuinely was having fun. But being somewhere so overwhelmingly happy made the sadness I’d been ignoring impossible to miss. There is a psychological idea called affective contrast. Sometimes a feeling becomes much more obvious when it’s sitting right next to its opposite. Probably this is a good thing that happened as it made me to face my emotion (although it did made me sad and down) 😂🥲 —----------------- 👋 If you’re new here, hi, I’m Dasom. Everyone seems to be building entire businesses with AI. Meanwhile, you’re still arguing with a chatbot to get one useful answer 😂 I used AI constantly in big tech and experienced how it can transform the way I work. Then I tried to recreate that setup on my personal laptop and realised how much I needed to figure out. Apparently I now need to understand plugins, connectors, MCPs and which of the approximately 47 subscriptions I actually need. 💻 So I’m starting a series: LET'S MAKE AI ACTUALLY USEFUL. I’m figuring out how to build an AI setup on a personal laptop with a limited budget that actually helps me with: starting a business, staying on top of 47 projects I'm brainstorming, creating content and building websites. 🔎 I’ll share what I test, explain the jargon in human language and show what’s worth paying for. ━━━━━━━━━━ how to use AI beyond a chatbot practical AI setup AI tools for content creators AI for dummies AI for small business realistic ways to use AI secrets to use ai better life after corporate london tech career korean in london korean abroad london female creator single life in 30s career pivot in 30s millennial career crisis ━━━━━━━━━━ What you see Sofa @hkliving coffeetable @hkliving top @homeofhai turntable @fluanceaudio ━━━━━━━━━━ 👋 If you’re new here, hi, I’m Dasom.
