Onlookers in Kyoto, 2026

I was sitting by the window at Holly’s Café on Shijō-dōri Avenue, having breakfast. As I watched the steady drift of people beyond the glass, I found myself drawn to the faces that passed by. Their expressions seemed heavy, intriguing, somehow complex, and difficult to decipher. I couldn’t help but wonder whether, in the direction they were heading, there lay some part of their dreams.

“Las dos caras”

“La intervención de @dassilva_arts y @draw_zesk inaugura este festival de pintura colaborativa abordando la herida abierta de la gentrificación. Benidorm y Lisboa, ciudad natal de ambos artistas, comparten un mismo problema: la transformación del espacio público en un producto de consumo de usar y tirar. Inspirándonos en la tesitura actual, este mural disecciona las dos caras de la moneda. Por un lado, la iconografía de la ‘felicidad programada’ de Martin Parr; por otro, la cruda realidad de la explotación laboral y la expulsión de los residentes de sus propios barrios.

El mural ha sido pensado como un ‘tobogán’ crítico: una bajada desde la estética vibrante de las vacaciones hasta el fondo de la precariedad que permite que el motor siga girando. Es una reclamación del muro como herramienta de pensamiento contra la deshumanización urbana de los no-lugares.”

Con este primer round terminado, el proyecto ‘Un Tobogán’ ha empezado a cumplir su objetivo: conectar a artistas de distintos lugares y generar diálogo entre vecinos y creadores. Queremos agradecer la buena acogida que ha tenido este mural. Ha sido una semana muy intensa pero, sobre todo, muy divertida. Difícilmente la vamos a olvidar.

GOODSPEED illustrates how success in high-performance sports, as well as in the professional world, is directly linked to upholding values such as discipline, focus, resilience, and commitment.

I would like to sincerely thank @eduardobaptistacorreia and @taguspark_sa for the opportunity to create this large-scale piece in a prominent location in the Central Hub of TagusPark.

This was a painting that had been put aside for almost a year. Not because it was less relevant than my other projects, but because I hesitated on how to approach a subject that is always more difficult for any artist to capture: an atmosphere, a sense of identity that evokes a place, sometimes spiritual or metaphysical, yet also physical, that, in turn, speaks to us.

This work represents that place, which is uncertain, yet undoubtedly exists, in the perception of both the viewer and its creator.

This is the official video of a major project that brought me immense joy to create. I believe I grew as an artist through this process; it allowed me to see new possibilities for implementing what I want to express through a different medium, and to visually expand my body of work.

A series of works emerging from a Japanese cultural context.

I would also like to thank @taguspark_sa for making the construction of these works possible and for the creative freedom they gave me, as well as @pauloalbuquerque.artist for believing in me and for recommending my name and work for the residency.
