I was standing outside and a random man says hello stops and says sis let it go let them go…. I have never seen him before and he just telling me things I smile and say thank you. The way ppl just stop and talk to me is just crazy at times. by @datchicdope

Let me tell you something, T…

Stop knocking on doors you already had the courage to close.

Stop feeding tables where folks only remembered you when they needed something.

Stop explaining why you had to choose YOU.

Some people got comfortable with the version of you that was always giving, fixing, showing up, making a way, and putting everybody else before herself.

That version of me?
She’s tired.

I’m not bitter.
I’m not mad.
I’m not even explaining it anymore.

I just finally understood that everything doesn’t deserve access to me.

So yeah… I closed some doors.

I stopped answering some calls.

I stopped feeding some tables.

And guess what?

My garden started growing. 🌱

Because all that energy I was wasting trying to keep dead things alive?

I put that shit back into ME.

Now I’m building.

Building my home.
Building my garden.
Building my community.
Building my peace.
Building my dreams.
Building a life where I don’t have to shrink, beg, chase, or prove that I belong.

And baby…

I’m not looking for a seat at your table anymore.

I’m growing my own food, building my own table, and planting my own damn garden.

You can keep the invitation.

I’m busy cultivating the life I prayed for. 🌱🏡

Same roots.
Bigger vision.
Stronger boundaries.
Softer heart.

And this time…

I’m growing for ME.

Someone once said to me,
“You always look so sad. Why don’t you smile more?”

And honestly… I was sad.

I was going through a divorce from my high school love.
I was surviving rape and domestic violence.
And before anybody calls me a victim—I am not a victim. I’m Medusa. 🐍

I was taking care of way too many children in adult bodies… y’all know who you are. 😏
Working two jobs for years.
Being Mom.
Being everything for everybody.
Trying to save the damn world while quietly trying to save myself.

So yeah… I was sad.

And when I got close to saying hello to the Four Horsemen, something inside me finally said:

“I’m not living.”

So I decided to live.

Not survive.
Not perform.
Not keep carrying everybody.
LIVE.

And somewhere along the way, I found my smile.

I found my peace.

Some days are easy like Sunday morning.
Some days I still have to cuss. 😂
Some days I have to step away, get quiet, touch some dirt and remember who the hell I am.

But every day…

I find my way back to peace.

And today?

Today you can find that woman in the garden—
standing in the sunflowers,
playing in the dirt,
hugging her chickens,
walking barefoot,
eating tomatoes and cucumbers straight off the vine,
sipping her wine,
laughing a little louder,
breathing a little deeper…

and finally loving the woman looking back at her.

BABY… I LOVE YOU, GIRL. 🤎🌻

And I mean that shit.

Because after everything I survived,
I deserve to enjoy the life I fought so hard to stay alive for.

Last week I stopped by sissy. She said pull up. So I did. She blessed me with fresh vegetables, herbs and flowers. Educated me about gardening to the point I'm gonna do a box next year.... Me the plant killer lol. Thank you and big shout out to @datchicdope for sharing her world. Love you and what you are doing for the community.
