Farewell, Jerry!
I am so glad that we met at the gym. That random meet with you and Mike started a friendship. I am so glad that we’re able to share many times and stories together. I hope we provided you some stability and relieve when you were told you had cancer. I’m happy that you made it to winter, and then Christmas, and to your 80th birthday. Sourdough story

In Nov 2025 my sister, Charity, gave me a sourdough starter. It sat at my house for nearly a month be for I started to feed it. It took a couple weeks to become active again for use. I started with my first bread around Christmas. While it was technical a bread, it was flat and not great. I tried again and failed. It was another UFO loaf. So, I tried again and again another UFO loaf. Dang! So, I reached out to my Brutha Shawn, and my sister. I decided to try another loaf. Boom shakalaka! I did it! My first successful sourdough bread. I guess I’m just hard headed enough to eventually figure it out. Thankfully my wife is patient and allowed me experiment in our kitchen. Now, I’m making about one or more loaves a week for the past several months. It’s been fun to share with my family & friends and see their reactions to my breads. Today, I baked my first flavored loaf. It’s a white cheddar and jalapeño. I’m looking forward to trying it.

12years ago at Apex Bar in Portland.
I was chatting with the bartender several weeks previously. She had recommended several @anchoragebrewing beers. I on this visit I had told her that they were fantastic. She was glad that I enjoyed the beers and then gave me a free beer. I turned back to the table and told the group. @carlalamere was very visible upset. The guys had to talk to her and she claimed down. Rick snapped this picture in the heat of the moment. But this is bitterly what happened.

I woke up this morning to the news that a church in Amsterdam was burned down. I went back though my pictures and believed that I took pictures of that beautiful church. I just mapped from The Hotel Roemer to Vondelkerk. I confirmed this was the church that was about three block from our hotel. This was the church that greeted us each evening as we returned home. I’m stunned that anyone would burn a church. This is a disgusting crime. I pray this beautiful church is rebuilt. My thoughts and prayers to all my friends in Amsterdam and The Netherlands. taken in Vondelkerk by @dathanlamere

Happy Thanksgiving!

I feel so blessed. I am grateful for my health, job, and all my family and friends. Carla and I had an amazing vacation and made some amazing memories.
