The next 3 photos are all the seasons it took to get there. I am 40, 30 and 22. Why post it? because If I can do a glow up, so can you.

I didn’t just arrive at this life- I hustled, cried, and believed for it. 🙌

What you see NOW is not what has been. Spending my BIRTHDAY in an overwater bungalow in BORA BORA is not because of my husband (although he booked it) but it’s because I decided I WILL NOT BE BORING. I WILL CELEBRATE others and myself.
.
At 40 years old I was a struggling single mom with no “real career”. I was a trainer, private chef and worked in retail to keep my schedule free and I could barely pay my bills.
.
For my 40th birthday I decided to celebrate ME! I I took my kids on our first vacation that I fully funded. I remember it was 6k and a huge stretch for me.
.
Let’s just say- it was amazing (the family beach photo) and worth the stretch. I learned that God provides for you when you go make memories with your kids! So go do it, even if it’s just a road trip! 🚗
.
One year I threw my own beach picnic becoase the company wanted 1k and I figured I could go to Homegoods and buy it all myself. And I did. It was magical ✨
.
One year I celebrated in Vegas and looked sexy AF because I had moved on from my Frumpy to fabulous journey. 🔥
.
One year I prayed for a private jet vacation and crazy enough 2 weeks later it manifested for not only me but a few girlfriends to Napa- for free! ✈️
.
One year I took my kids on the 4 years late covid vacation to Amalfi coast and rented the day boat I dreamed of and ate lemon gelato. 🍋
.
Last year I did a neon throne party and the people I love joined in with me! They started to realize Katy doesn’t take birthdays lightly… 🎉
.
My point… stop doing life regular, mundane, normal. You are not those things. May your birthday be a celebration of all you are!!!

Congrats to my beautiful daughter and her amazing Fiance on their engagement 💕

I met her Fiance his freshman year at UC Berkeley when he was my son’s good friend (and still is). I remember thinking that he was such a great kid and once said to him “You can date my daughter.” And here we are!!

They have held a high and healthy standard in their dating and I am so impressed! 💪

It is so exciting (and crazy) to see my family growing in sweet ways. It’s so exciting to watch love growing! by @datingwithkaty

Bold colors rock my world. 💙Please may I never wear a brown sweater in a photo.

This post might not have much to do about dating, but it will help your photos and it will make you look and feel amazing.

If you’ve never had your colors done, I highly recommend it. I’m a winter and when I stick to my jewel tones I shine. ✨

Recently, my daughter and a good friend got their clothes and were shocked that they were not wearing the best colors for their skin tone. So time to go shopping!

Drinking and dating….

I work with many successful male clients, and interestingly, a lot of them either drink very little or not at all.

One thing I hear often is that past relationships ended because their girlfriend regularly overdrank on dates. What started as “just having fun” sometimes turned into snarky comments, poor judgment, or behavior that simply wasn’t attractive long-term. Eventually, they chose to move on.

Ladies, it’s worth being mindful of how much you’re drinking when you’re on a date or spending time with your man. A little can be social and enjoyable—but too much can change the tone of the entire evening and how you’re perceived.

Of course, it’s also important not to date an alcoholic or even a functional alcoholic (those can be the sneakiest ones). But it’s equally wise to check in with yourself and make sure you’re not slowly drifting in that direction either.

Celebrating my health! I’m 50 this year and tomorrow I get a rotator cuff surgery that, looks to me, won’t be an easy recovery and I won’t be vacationing in my bikini (Target for the win).

The idea of a big, ugly, frustrating sling to wear 24/7 for a month sounds like torture to me.

Yet the attitude I should have is GRATITUDE for the money and ability to repair it and move forward in health.

But honestly- i’m struggling to get there.

In the midst of all my relationship frustrations and having the realization that the older I get the more I want to have a partner that will be with me in “health and sickness”, in the good and bad, may not be the reality.

And it’s the reality for a lot of singles out there.

The question “who is your emergency contact?” can be a hard one for singles and I get it.

Yes, Matchmaking is a REAL thing.

I remember when I first told my dad that I was going to be a matchmaker and he laughed at me.

He was a simple blue collar man who just could not wrap his head around it, but that’s OK- he would be proud of me now!

i’ve set up hundreds of dates, introduced over 100 couples who are in LTRs or marriage and encouraged tens of thousands to help find the other 20%ers!

Even my license plate says “Make Love Happen” (in 7 letters)! 🚙

I am not saying I’m the best “relationship coach” (beyond my expertise) BUT when it come to dating, getting out there and making that memorable impression my advice still stands.

The Dating With Katy Podcast will be making a comeback this spring and I can’t wait! 🎙️
