On May 15 at 8:45 AM, I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics

These four years have definitely been a journey. Through all the rough nights, rough days, struggles, and challenges I’ve had to face throughout the years, there was still so much good that came with it too the friendships, the love, the lessons, and the memories. Even in the moments when I wanted to give up, I still knew I had to keep fighting. I knew I had to keep going and continue being the strong Black woman I know I am.

At the end of it all, everything happened for a reason. Every lesson had a purpose, and that purpose was definitely served. I’m thankful for every experience, good and bad, because it helped be who I am today. So thank you to everyone who supported me, loved me, pushed me, and stood beside me through it all. I’ll continue to live out my expectations, carry myself with confidence, and hold myself to the higher standards I know I deserve.💋 taken in Winston-Salem, North Carolina by @dats.memeee

Every time I felt pressure to fit a mold, I moved in my own way smooth, and unapologetically me.

Being a part of the Red Sea of Sound, the Silky Smooth Flag Line didn’t just teach me how to perform it taught me how to carry myself. How to speak when it mattered, how to stay quiet when I needed peace, and how to move with confidence no matter who was watching. I learned through the long nights, the stress, the doubts, and the pressure… and still found strength in every moment that tried to break me.

Three years in the band, and a captain my last year something I’ll never take for granted.
My girls and my coach made my final season everything. Even when it got hard, even when people doubted us, we stayed focused and proved exactly who we were. We didn’t fold, we didn’t quit we showed up and came out on top.

To everyone who has been on this journey with me thank you. To my teammates who became sisters, for the love, lessons, and memories we built together. To my coaches for the push, the guidance, and believing in me even when I doubted myself. And to everyone who supported me along the way, I truly appreciate you all. This journey wasn’t mine alone, and I’ll always carry it with me.🤞🏾❤️

It is an HONOR to be selected 🌹

Theta Upsilon: Thank you for allowing me to be myself and for welcoming me into this chapter. From the moment I joined, I knew I wanted to give more, and I did my best to make that happen despite any challenges or stress.
Being part of this chapter pushed me beyond my comfort zone and helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect. I will always cherish the memories, the lessons, and the love I experienced here.

The AcadTAUmy of Misfits: To my sisters forever, I’m so grateful I got to experience this with you all. Having you in my life means everything, and I’ll always be thankful to call Y’all my sisters. No matter what happens, I’m with y’all through thick and thin. Baddies on top, always. 💛
