Year one, already a legacy in motion. 🎓

Davon Lilly ‘25 closed out his first year of teaching with Baltimore City Public Schools by moving 70% of his students up to green and blue proficiency levels and producing some of the district’s most proficient MCAP performers. Beyond the numbers, he built relationships with his students that will last a lifetime.

This fall, Davon steps into a new chapter, leading his own 3rd grade classroom and pouring that same energy into Baltimore’s youngest learners. 🧡💙 by @dav.onnn

On May 4th, 2025, I crossed the stage and made history as a First-Generation College Graduate from the nation’s first degree-granting HBCU – Lincoln University Of Pennsylvania .

My journey wasn’t easy. I started strong in Fall ‘21 but didn’t even make it to Spring ‘22, forced to leave school due to financial struggles and the heartbreaking loss of my biggest supporter, my Auntie Jo.

But I refused to let that be my story. I worked tirelessly over that summer, grinding to come back and finish what I started. I returned Fall ‘22, determined to make my mark, joining organizations, knocking out classes, and building a name for myself as if I never left becoming a true powerhouse in my HBCU Community from ‘22- now.

In Fall ‘24, I walked into my senior year with my head held high, ready to tackle everything, only to face another devastating loss – my Auntie Janet. I wanted to give up, but I knew this time, I had to finish strong because that’s what she wanted.

And I did just that. Not only did I graduate, but I did it with honors and with two major job offers , setting me up to be able to live my childhood dream as an elementary school teacher – a dream I have hoped and prayed for.

But this degree isnt just for me, its for my mom, my Aunts in heaven, and my entire family🤞🏽
