Say it ain’t so! The big 5 - 0 to the original North Jersey guidette, the high schooler who had a key chain that said “life’s a bitch and so am I.” Bon Jovi’s biggest fan and your worst nightmare if u ever crossed her. Happy Birthday to I must say the ageless one, my biggest supporter, sister Suzanne. Love u. And a special mention to my Aunt Judie and Moe to always supporting us both thru the years. by @dave_cavalluzzo

End of an Era
And on the 15th Anniversary of AthElite LLC, est. Feb 12 2007, I officially announce the day to day operations are coming to an end. This has been a natural progression, a couple years in the making.

We had a great run. And I can say with confidence for 5 years 2007-2012 no one did it better than us in NJ for developing HS athletes of all sports but especially football. We were the best.

Times change, life changes and as the training business evolved I grew tired and disillusioned with the “extras” especially social media marketing. And when the pandemic hit it was a no brainer to completely absorb my new experience and job that I have been doing for the past 4 years.

There are so many people to thank. May I mention some here. The 3 Head Coaches at Bergen Catholic who allowed me to perfect my craft: Vito and Nunzio Campanile and of course Fred Stengel. Dave Paladino the guru of the gym business and my friend. Tim Gaarn who gave AthElite the foresight to move to Closter with Dave Paladino in 2011. Anthony DeBellis who gave me a new beginning. And of course my main man, the only one who I could have done this with and the guy who always had my back, my business partner, my brother: Ben Tonon. Last but not least my wonderful family. I love them.

And finally to all the great athletes, literally thousands of them that I have trained dating back to 2001 and all the way to my last day in Norwood at Impact Zone last week. And their parents too. I’ve seen u all grow. Many of u have become my closest friends and I’ve been to some of your weddings. A lifetime of experiences and stories and plenty of colorful characters. The old saying — I could write a book. Thank you all. I love u all.

I’ll stay involved athletically. I’ll continue being the HC of Bergen Catholic frosh football team and be the programs strength coach, that won’t ever change. But it’s time to say goodbye to AthElite.

As a great friend once said and I fully agree, “I had a lot left. It was just time.” Amen
