This is the end! (For now) Andy Bell & 10 Crowns has taken me all over the world this past year and what an amazing end in São Paulo BRAZIL 🇧🇷. I will remember this the rest of my life. She started singing professionally at ten at Opryland. She introduced Hayley Williams to her vocal coach. She helped develop Ariana Grande — in her dressing room — as a child. She represented the United States at one of the world’s biggest song competitions, won, and came home with a silver seagull confusing TSA agents to this day. Then she became a studio manager.
In Episode 6 of Tuned Out, Dave Audé and Deborah sit down with Kelly King — Nashville native, singer, artist developer, and general manager of East Iris Studios, Universal Music Group’s legendary recording campus. Kelly’s career makes perfect sense in hindsight and zero sense in the moment — from the Opryland Kids Club to summers in Salt Lake City with a Mormon family, to three top twenty Billboard hits on Warner Brothers, to touring with Michael Bolton and Babyface, to developing the artist she’d later marry, to running one of the most storied studios in America.
