POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I’ve told this story over a thousand times, and I’d tell it a thousand more if I wanted.

I started this music thing when I was 13, recording over Drake’s ā€œ0-100ā€ instrumental. My friends listened to it and said ā€œThat wasn’t badā€. In 2017, I went to a different high school from my friends and made my music public on SoundCloud. My first song got 200+ streams on SoundCloud, and that’s when That Kid from Macomb was born. Within a year, I released 10 songs, mostly on holidays. In June 2018, I needed to make a change and took a hiatus. I went from one song to 1,000 total streams. After this milestone, a kid became a prince, a thousand became two, two became three, and then life hit. Cancer took one of my best friends, but I didn’t let that stop me. I had my eyes on the prize, but something didn’t feel right. I took another break, three thousand streams became five, and on Christmas 2019, it was a miracle in Macomb. The prince was back.

Then life hit again. The prince’s reign was over. A pandemic struck and I lost a lot in my life, including music. I took some time to reflect until I met a new person who gave me my confidence back. When the prince’s reign ended, Dave Kro flew to the rescue, attempting to turn Macomb into Krotown.

A lot changed as Dave Kro. I got my heart broken, went to college, my music was out on all platforms, and started finding myself again, but still felt broken. In 2022, my life went uphill again, but I thought about quitting again when my most streamed song ā€œGirl of My Dreamsā€ stayed my most streamed song for almost 18 months. I felt like I didn’t get better as an artist and my life was a Perfect Fantasy. Regardless, I kept going, and I’m glad I did. In September 2023, it was Simpless September, and every song on this album surpassed ā€œGirl of my Dreamsā€.

At 14, I was fine with 10 streams; at 15, I was happy with 100; at 20, I was amazed with 1,000. Today, I hit my first 10,000 streams on a song from Simpless September ā€œA Rose is Just a Roseā€ feat. Thomas Grande. Thank you to everyone who’s supported me, whether it was day 1 or yesterday ā¤ļø also my spotify streams are lower than last year because I haven’t released an album this year… yet. by @davekro19

I figured a Valentine album was in order since I missed my album last year. Stay tuned for more music, but until then… I’m better off without her šŸ˜‰ taken in Austin, Texas by @davekro19

Not all superheroes wear capes. I’m trying to find the right words, and I’m still trying to process everything. A part of me really believed you were invincible given everything you’ve gone through. Sepsis, brain hemorrhage, COVID, and cancer. It seemed like every time we felt like your time was coming, you didn’t want to leave. After all this time, your battle came to end. Thank you for all the memories, and everything you’ve ever done for me grandpa, and I hope there’s enough scotch mixed with water for you in heaven ā¤ļø I love you by @davekro19

5 years ago to this day, my life changed forever. At about 8am, I saw an ambulance coming towards our school and thought there was absolutely no way it’s coming here. I was wrong. I heard my principal on the PA say ā€œnobody leave your classrooms, there is a medical lockdown going on.ā€ I asked some of my friends if they knew what happened, which they didn’t. Later, I realized it was for you. You had a seizure. Little did I know this was the beginning of the end when I found out that you had stage 3 brain cancer. Anthony, my life hasn’t been the same without you. Almost a full 16 months after today, you were gone forever. I remember before you left us, you wanted me to see you and I didn’t. I was selfish. It hurt me to watch you suffer or see you in a casket, and I thought it would be easier for me to avoid it. Instead, I chose to have years of guilt, and I can never forgive myself for that. I hope this message gets to you one way or another. I love you, I miss you, and I’m sorry brother ā¤ļø by @davekro19
