Two sold out nights/days at Castlefest this weekend, I say “I’m too old for this shit” every year and I probably am but to see a packed house with people having a great time with the bands is what it’s all about and what keeps me doing this.

Big love to everyone involved from start to finish making the event happen this year and especially everyone who bought a ticket. Probably should maybe book some more shows at some point, Castlefest 26 is in the books.

Twenty one years ago today, three people including myself put on what would become a significant moment in the landscape of live music in Luton at the old student union in town.

Twenty one years later (with large breaks in between) I am still part of the local scene with an even bigger group of people and whilst we are nowhere near as active as we have been in the past, I am still so proud to be a small part of a bigger, wider group of people who care about the live music scene in Luton when most people couldn’t give a shit. So here’s to DTA, The Weight, Gate Nine, PDM, Vandalism, Luton Live/s and Castlefest and probably a shit tonne I have forgotten. If you’re around for the festival this weekend, I’ll see you then. If not, I’ll see you another time. by @davelouisbrady

First ever non working trip to @arctangentfestival with @hauntedwendyhouse to see some mighty good bands, spend time with friends both old and new. Extra special shout out to @ttng.uk, @hang_linton, @eatdarkmatters, @cultofluna, the legends at @headsabovethewaves and many other bands and vendors from the weekend. Auntie Becca and Uncle Dave visited family and friends up North pretty much last-minute and had a lovely time meeting them for lunch or coffee, tattoos, visiting the beach and walking Spot The Dog. Love you bye 💕 by @davelouisbrady

An absolute mad 10 days started off with a trip to Trees with the boys in Glassjaw and Becca, hot, sweaty and very little sleep & then up to the North East to see family, friends and Spot the Dog. Back to work on Monday and we are already planning our next trip and MAYBE even moving out of Luton. by @davelouisbrady

2000 Trees weekend with @davelouisbrady and @glassjaw (thank you to the band and crew for letting me tag along; hope I didn’t get in the way too much) It was a bit surreal because I’ve been a fan of GJ since I was a kid, but it was a really fun experience. I bumped into friends, made some new ones , got twelve hours of sleep in four days and finally tried Shishawi for the first time. That heat was an asshole though, wasn’t it? A little over 20 years ago, myself and the other two in this picture started something in Luton that was a bit of a game changer. Lots of learning and growth came out of DTA and it’s something I still hold dear to me till this day and still promoting the occasional show with my @castlefest_uk family. Here’s to the future but also to never forgetting the past and the ones that despite everything made you the person you’ve become. by @davelouisbrady

What can I say about Monstera that hasn’t been said by myself and many others over the years. All I can say is, thank you for all the food, the support for what we have done with Castlefest and the laughs over the years. See you on up the road. by @davelouisbrady
