This week on Paré Paré, Trevor talks with artist, car enthusiast, and watch collector, Dave McDermott. Together they discuss Dave’s career as an artist, including the highs and lows of selling art and what it takes to survive. Dave details the watches that he’s acquired through the years that resonate with him and what about watch collecting keeps him fascinated in the hobby. They also discuss the Ferrari 365 Daytona from Robert Altman’s The Long Goodbye and how Dave acquired his Ferrari Mondial QV. by @davemcdus

I don’t know if artists are supposed to have favourites of their own work, but 10 years on I still think about this one. Oddly never made it into a show or even an art fair. I’m not even sure it ever officially made it to market.
It’s funny how many paintings, films, songs, poems, books, etc never make it out into the world for any variety of innocuous reasons. Informally polling my friends through the years, these works are often listed among our “favourites”. Go figure.
